  • Good tour of Rock.

Not sure what we paid for. The minibus tour was great and our guide was very good. Cave was very colorful and pretty and we got entrance to that with tour. Seemed like most of the rest they didn't charge for, we just walked in. Enjoyed our time, but as I said, other than the 2 hour minibus tour and cave, not sure what we paid for. Also, tried to take bus from town to border/airport and couldn't find stops for bus. So much construction going on, many stops are in different places than maps show.

It was a fun experience, some of the activities on the rock was closed, but was still worth the visit 😊

The Gibraltar Pass advertises “instant activation” on their website, but this is simply not true. You must activate it at the cable car entrance. This is incredibly frustrating if you plan to hike instead of taking the cable car. We made the mistake of trying to activate it at the Mediterranean Steps entrance, of course it didn’t work, so we wasted hours walking all the way back down just to activate something that was supposed to be ready instantly. The pass also promises various “free extras” like water or drinks, but there’s no clear information on where or how to claim any of it. It feels like a scavenger hunt with no actual reward. Once you finally get into the nature reserve, it becomes obvious that the standard Gibraltar Nature Reserve ticket is significantly cheaper than the inflated price of the Gibraltar Pass. This company is essentially reselling the same product with added inconvenience and a hefty markup. Save yourself the hassle, confusion, and extra cost. Buy the official Nature Reserve pass on-site instead, it’s straightforward, cheaper, and avoids all the unnecessary complications.

  • An exhausting day out on the Rock.

I was in Gibraltar for a few days and wanted to visit the Historical sites, so getting a Gibraltar Pass, seemed logical thing to do this. Unknown to me at the time of booking, the Cable Car was out of commission, so access to the sites could be a problem. No Taxi company was willing to take me to the top unless I took one of their sight seeing tours, which may have been a better option, considering the Cable Car was out of action. However, I'm reasonably fit for my age, I decided to walk up the Rock starting at the Moorish Castle and working my way up via WWII & Great Siege Tunnels etc. I had planned to do it reverse, Cable Car and walking down being easier. Showed my pass at the Entrance, to the Nature Reserve, and got a wrist band for access to the all the sites of interest. Because of restoration works going on at the Castle, it prevented me going in there. Although it was a bit of a slog, I carried up the hill stopping at each historical sight. The QR code on the wrist band was scanned at each entry point, which allowed me entry. Eventually got to the top and came down via the Skywalk and St Michael's Cave, where I stopped and had a late lunch in the Cabin. I was really impressed with all the Exhibitions. Its was 30 years since last visited and they have been renovated to show how it was at the time they were constructed. St. Michael's was absolutely amazing with its sound and light. display. Then it was a hike back to town, an exhausting day, but well worth it. PS: Had no issued with the Apes, other than a little one wanted a Piggy Back, up the hill.

  • Needed another ticket other than the one supplied by Viator. .

After purchasing your tickets and clicking “get your tickets” you get a barcoded ticket. Then you receive an email that says to put your email address in again to get your ticket?? I thought it was a scam until I reached the bus only to discover I needed to follow the instructions on the second email to resend my email to receive the correct ticket. This delayed our experience by 30-45”.

Only try walking to everything on the rock if you are reasonably fit. The caves take a lot more time than you might think.

  • It’s hard to get the ticket you actually paid for.

The pass itself was good value - cable car up and all the attractions of the nature area, tunnels, etc. BUT getting the tickets paid for is a very cumbersome process, one that in the end did not work without the help of a fabulous lady at the cable care entry. Without her help we would have had to buy new tickets. It’s a silly process that needs to be significantly streamlined.

  • Saddened due to traffic and congestion

If you are in a time crunch at all, please do not go. We waited for two hours to get through border patrol due to construction!!! We were very saddened for all the things that we missed and very disappointed that there was such a delay to even get through the line due to traffic and hectic environment. We never even made it to scan our tickets in for an activity.

The cable car is separate from the other activities. It’s best to use a cab or an agent if you are interested in the other activities.

The description of the pass is very misleading. It promises public transport in Gibraltar. However, the buses in Gibraltar are NOT covered.
