Glencoe
Glencoe was the setting to one of the most infamous periods in Scottish history, the Glencoe massacre which took place in 1692. The beautiful scenery is a visitors must see. We stop at Glencoe Visitor Centre to allow time to learn more about the history of the glen. The centre is also home to the turf house where you‘ll be able to see what life must have been like for the 500-600 strong community that lived here in 17th century Glencoe. We travel through the glen twice (morning and evening) and stop for photos and to take in the landscape while we are there.

The whole experience was worth every single penny spent. We covered so much in so little time. If you want to visit Highlands and have no car, this is the only best way to do so. Our tour guide, the Big Al (Allen) was fabulous. He recommended us local food and whiskey in Glasgow and while on tour, he made sure that we had a good time. He was a great storyteller with good sense of humour. He gave us timely breaks at delicious food spots. 10/10 recommended.

The tour was very well-arranged, with plenty of rests in between. The iconic film locations were covered. Colin, the tour leader, was great company.

We had the best day on this tour. When asked what were some of the highlights of our six week UK trip, both my husband and myself said this tour was the top of our list. The Buchanan bus station was easy to find . The entire day was full of variety , nothing felt rushed in fact Scott our guide went out of his way to make sure everyone got the most out of the day. From the moment we got on the bus Scott made sure everyone felt included., he would personally the young person sitting towards the back of the bus, when he was talking. .What also impressed me was that they didn’t cancel the tour because we only had about few of us. The itinerary was just right. We had plenty of time at Glenfinnan to walk around the grounds, go up the monument ( if you wanted to we didn’t ), walk down to the Loch where the monument is wander around the gift shop, have a look at the little museum attached to gift shop, and have a coffee . Even at photo stops at Glencoe Scott allowed time for us to really take in the beauty of the highlands. At our lunch break at Glencoe we had plenty of time to walk around the grounds at the visitor centre , go to gift shop and have lunch , never felt rushed at all. If someone expressed seeing something specific along the route he showed genuine interest by asking if thegot to see it and if they said they didn’t he would try and make sure they sa sit on the way back. My personal experience was getting to the bus a few minutes earlier from a souvenir shop and I mentioned I didn’t see any spoons , he got me off the bus and took me back into the shop and asked the staff spefically where they were . So lastly, a big thank you to Scott, he genuinely enjoyed the day as much as the rest of us. His big bubbly personality is obvious from the second he welcomed us . This day alone was worth every minute of that long flight We knew instantly the day was going to be special. And it was. Karen and Steve from Australia

Chris was a great tour guide! He had so much knowledge about the history of the area and also shared information about the geological formations that make of Scotland. He stopped at so may photo ops and even provided hints for best photos. He always gave explicit instructions for timing of stops and what we would be able to see/eat/do at each stop. Each had jaw dropping views and more information, with ample toilet stops along the way. He also had a great playlist while he wasn’t talking, that showcased Scottish musicians, including internationally known musicians born in Scotland. Such a treat! It was a long day, though, mainly because of road construction along the way, so plan for getting back to Glasgow after 7pm. Well worth the money!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience on the Glenfinnan Viaduct Tour from Glasgow with Discover Scotland Tours! The entire trip was beautifully organized, with breathtaking views throughout the Highlands it truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. What made it even more special was our tour guide, Colin. He was exceptional friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about Scotland. His storytelling, humor, and attention to detail made the journey so engaging and enjoyable from start to finish. Colin went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable and having a great time. Thanks to him, the tour felt personal and memorable rather than just another sightseeing trip. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Scotland, and if you’re lucky enough to have Colin as your guide, you’re in for a treat! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience!
