The settlement of Gokyo (4750m) lies on the banks of the third lake in a series of small turquoise mountain lakes and on the ridge above Gokyo, a hike to the high vantage point of Gokyo Ri (Trek to Gokyo Peak) (5350m) will reward you with views of the four above 8000m peaks of Cho You, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu expose themselves. There are many options for additional exploration and high-altitude walking, including the crossing of Cho La, a 5420m-high pass into Khumbu and a hike to Gokyo Ri. Your return trek will depart from the standard Gokyo trek and if you wish to take yourself through another route back to Namche by crossing the Renjo La pass (5340m) instead of back trekking the Gokyo valley trails. This makes the trek a much more exciting and challenging one or heading to Everest Base Camp trek just crossing Cho La pass also would be another achievement.

Amazing trek, the best guide, Shiva took such good care of us! From the time we met in Kathmandu until our flight back from Lukla, we couldn't have asked for a better guide and porters! And the trek, hard to describe, but one of the most challenging experiences of my life, both physically and mentally. Beautiful views, difficult trails, perfect weather, comfortable accommodations. We requested upgraded tea houses, which were worthwhile as we always had en-suite bathrooms and sometimes hot showers in the rooms. Shiva thought of every detail, I would travel with him again in a second!

Fantastic experience! Gokyo trek is beautiful. Our guide, Shiva, was amazing!! He took such good care of us, arranged everything perfectly, was so knowledgeable about the region and culture, and was a pleasure to hang out with. Our porters, Palden and Chandra, were also wonderful - so sweet and fun to be around. Shree did a great job answering our myriad of questions before the trek via email, and was always accessible during to trek to coordinate last minute plan changes. I would highly recommend Base Camp Adventures, and Shiva in particular as q guide. It was an adventure I’ll never forget!!

My friend and I rcently completed the Gokyo Lake and Cho La Pass trek with Base Camp Adventures, and I can honestly say it was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. From start to finish, the entire team at Base Camp Adventures exceeded all expectations. Our guide (Shiva) was exceptionally knowledgeable, not only about the trail but also about the local culture and geography, enriching the journey in ways I hadn't anticipated. He was always attentive to our needs, ensuring we were comfortable and safe, especially as we navigated the challenging terrain of the Cho La Pass. Our porter (Shandra) too, was incredibly hardworking and always with a smile, carrying our gear without a hitch and showing remarkable dedication throughout. The trek itself was certainly demanding, but the stunning views made every tough step worth it. The panoramas of the snow-capped peaks, glaciers, and crystal-clear lakes were nothing short of breathtaking. Gokyo's beauty is unparalleled, and crossing the Cho La Pass, with its rugged, high-altitude landscape, was a true adventure which we'll never forget. The owner of Base Camp Adventures (Shree) was also fantastic. From the initial inquiry to the end of the trek, the communication was seamless, and they made sure every detail was taken care of, allowing us to focus entirely on the experience. Their professionalism and genuine care for their clients shine through in everything they do. If you're looking for a company that combines expert guidance, exceptional service, and a genuine passion for trekking in the Himalayas, I can't recommend Base Camp Adventures highly enough. The trek was challenging but incredibly rewarding, and I look forward to my next adventure with them! ☺ ⛰

This was an extremely beautiful trek with so many high points and plenty of time for acclimatisation. It was actually 13 days of trekking with shorter days while ascending and longer days when descending and we had 2 much needed acclimatisation days one in exciting Namche Bazar at 3400m and the other at Gokyo near the amazingly picturesque 3rd lake. Our guide Shiva was always helping, leading and informing us and became our trusted companion and friend, supporting and encouraging us through all of the challenging moments as well as the fun ones. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he took great care of us at all times both when walking and at mealtimes. Our porter Chandra also deserves a mention for his constant friendly presence and seemingly never ending stamina! Furthermore, Shree from Base Camp Adventures was extremely communicative on the run. up to the trek answering all of our questions promptly and thoroughly! Thanks to the whole team we both succeeded in reaching all the goals of the trek including Base Camp of course!

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience! I cannot recommend this trek enough! The entire experience was made unforgettable by the incredible organization from Mr. Shree, along with our guide Prakash and porter Mr. Ram. Despite facing a severe storm during our trip in Nepal, Prakash and Mr. Ram were remarkably supportive, flexible, and solution-oriented. They ensured we were always safe and adjusted plans seamlessly to give us the best possible experience. The tea houses we stayed in were comfortable, and the cultural and historical insights shared by Prakash truly elevated the trip. It wasn’t just about witnessing breathtaking landscapes; it was a deep dive into Nepalese culture and history, which made the journey even more enriching. This was far more than just a trek – it was an unforgettable learning adventure. Highly recommended!

This trip was quite frankly one of the best thing I’ve ever done in my entire life. Any expectations I had for what we would see and do were massively blown out of the water - the trails, scenery, mountains and lakes were just breathtakingly beautiful and very humbling. It was all made even better by our incredible guide Prakash who was nothing but a superstar - he was very professional, attentive and informative while being a great laugh and companion. Equally our Porter Indra was a superhero, how this guy carries the duffel bags over the same 200-odd KMs with such a big smile on his face is beyond me. Finally Basecamp Adventures themselves (and Shree the owner) were brilliant, excellent communication from the moment we contacted them, meeting us at the airport in Kathmandu and then looking after us every step of the way. I’d 100000% recommend doing this trek with these guys (and specifically asking for Prakash to guide you!), you will not be disappointed!

Had THE most incredible experience doing the Everest base camp and Gokyo lake trek with base camp adventures - a truly unforgettable two weeks!! Our guide Prakash was top notch, making sure we paced ourselves, taking us to all the best view points and he had such a thorough knowledge of the area and country. Our porter Indra was also amazing and was so attentive during the whole trek. Could not rate this experience more, if I could give it 10 stars I would!!

My partner and I just wanted to say a big thank you to Shakti, Saroj & Shree at Base camp adventures. We were ecstatic to have the opportunity to spend our walk with an exceptional guide. Nepal is an amazing, beautiful place! And we are lucky and glad we completed the walk and made it back safely under Shakti’s guidance. Shakti made the walk no stress, and the service provided was in a friendly and humble manner which was top class. Even the porter who also done an amazing job. We feel as though we left Nepal with an extra friend. We were both sad when our time with you came to an end. both the guide and porter where extremely professional, friendly and caring. For that, myself and Josh hope to see you again in the near future 😁
