What To Expect
Expect a 20-40 minute boat ride across Florida Bay, over the grass flats and thru the maze of banks and mangrove islands to find the most productive fishing grounds. Then Capt Dan will familiarize you with techniques and a recipe for success as you begin the hunt for flats species on fly or light spin tackle.

5.00My wife and I spent an amazing full day out with Captain Dan fly fishing on Florida Bay in the Everglades! We met just up the road from our hotel in Islamorada at the boat launch and spent the day chasing tarpon and snook! Even though the weather was not the best (pretty windy even for the Keys) Captain Dan got us behind islands and found the fish. His Maverick skiff with a casting platform and custom rail made casting a lot easier compared to my other salt water fly fishing trips in the past. Dan has spent thousands of hours perfecting his guiding skills in the Keys and it shows. In addition to all the fish we also saw manatees, dolphins, spoonbills and rays. Look forward to chasing fish with Captain Dan again hopefully in the near future!

5.00Fishing success can often depend greatly on the weather and day I fished was after cold front moved through and was very windy to start morning. After first spot was slow guide said where he felt best fishing would be was a little out of way for half day charter. I said less fishing time and catching more fish was more desirable and after a long run we had a decent day considering the conditions. I really appreciated the guide being honest and giving me option. He worked very hard to find fish!

5.00Captian Dan was an absolute blast to fish with. Very knowledgeable about the area and the species locally. Not only did he put us on fish but was willing to teach us different techniques to target different areas and species. 100% recommended to any fisherman!

We had a chance to fly fish for Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, Jacks and we even spotted a giant Barracuda! This was our first time fly fishing in the Florida Keys and Captain Dan was great at putting us on multiple fish of each species. 5.00If you are looking for an experienced, professional and personable fishing guide in the upper Keys, Dan Haesche is your guy. My wife and I fished on a tough wether day but Dan put us on the fish. My Fly Fishing skills are limited but Dan maneuvered the boat for the best shot and gave me some helpful instructions as well. I plan to return for the spring Tarpon run (if not sooner). Great boat, great guy, and a great day on the water!
