If you are going to get to the heart of hygge, you need to go back in time. We begin our Hygge & Happiness tour near the characteristic yellow houses of Nyboder, a famed local district. Here you’ll meet and greet your native guide and your group for the day. Your native guide is a bona fide Copenhagener who is super excited to share their knowledge of Danish culture with you, as well as local historical secrets that you won’t find in any guidebooks! And because our tours are for small groups only, your guide has plenty of time to answer
Copenhagen
Your tour takes you through the oldest parts of the city, where you experience hidden gems in the form of cobblestone-filled streets, timber-framed houses, and green refuges of calm amongst the urban sprawl. Krusemyntegade is one of the cobblestone-filled streets that just scream hygge with that old world charm. It’s a great example of how hyggelig our city can be if you just take the time to wander.

Sandra was an excellent guide, giving us a great overview of Copenhagen, its history, and the hard-to-define concept of hygge. I highly recommend this tour at the beginning of your visit so you get a good sense of this great city.

We did get to see many landmarks and learn part of the Danish history and culture. I also learned a new word: Hygge. Now I understand why Danish were ranked #2 happiest people in the world. It's a tour worth taking but, as a senior, I wish that there were at least two sit-down opportunities for the tour.

Had a great start to our whirlwind trip to Copenhagen with Therese on our morning hygge tour! She took us through local history with highlights of how locals and royals lived, a lovely favorite pastry at a cafe, and a unique licorice tea. She had a good sense of humor with tidbits of history, from how the Danish royal family managed to head off revolutions to the start of the Danish Reformation. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good grounding for further exploration of Copenhagen!

This was a wonderful tour. Instead of just a history tour of sights, you get an insight into the culture. There are land marks but the sense of being a from Copenhagen is what this tour is about.
