Due to the nature of this tour and the safety of all guests, the tour operator reserves the right to refuse service to passengers who are intoxicated or show signs of intoxication. If, as a result, your tour is canceled, you will not be entitled to a refund.
Due to comfort and weight / balance of the aircraft, passengers weighing over 300 lbs (136 kg or 21 stone) will be required to purchase an additional seat. This is payable directly to the tour operator on the day of the tour.
The total combined passenger weight (including pilot) cannot exceed 1170lbs (530kg)
There is a maximum capacity of seven (7) people per helicopter, plus your pilot.
Per FAA Regulations, original government issued photo ID such as a REAL-ID compliant driver's license or a valid passport is required for all travelers over the age of 18. Photocopies or digital IDs are not accepted. Any guest arriving without original, government-issued identification will be denied check-in, and no refunds will be issued for any guest in the reservation.
Due to uneven terrain at the Grand Canyon, wheelchairs are not able to be accommodated.
Helicopter seating is based on legal weight & balance limits and will be assigned after check-in. Maverick Helicopters does not guarantee seating next to or in the same row of the rest of the party.”

4.00We arrived on time (14:15) for our 15:00 booked flight, and the whole experience started well. The building and check-in area provide a perfect environment, with fantastic views across the airfield and helicopters passing the full-length windows, all adding to the excitement. At 296 lbs (robed and ready), I found the numerous emails about weight restrictions a little excessive. I had already read the booking details and knew I had to be under 300 lbs—otherwise, I’d be flying butt naked! We were greeted by our pilot, Kevin, who was knowledgeable, pleasant, and exuded confidence. He immediately made everyone in our group (five guests in total) feel relaxed and comfortable. The 45-minute outbound flight took us across the airport and east of Las Vegas, over Lake Las Vegas, Lake Mead, the iconic Hoover Dam, and on to the Grand Canyon. Throughout the journey, Kevin pointed out the aerial highlights and shared interesting information about the sights below. I was star struck with the breathtaking beauty and impressive geography, geology and colourful rock formation. The 20-minute landing and break deep within the canyon was memorable and enjoyable, with complimentary drinks and snacks provided. After the stop, everyone had the opportunity to swap seats so that those in the front could experience the rear seats and vice versa. Having been on several helicopter flights before, I chose to remain comfortably seated on the starboard side at the back. The headsets worked well, and communication between passengers and the pilot was clear despite the general noise level associated with helicopters. My only real criticism is the seating arrangement. I understand that all tour operators, including Maverick, want to maximise capacity and ideally fill all the seats (seven passenger + pilot). However, the cabin felt extremely cramped. Even with only five passengers plus the pilot, we felt squeezed into the narrow seating despite one seat free in each row - remember one has to wear a 4 point harness so "sliding across" or sharing a spare seat is not possible. In my opinion, the layout would be far more comfortable with two rows of three seats, limiting occupancy to six people including the pilot. At USD 720 per passenger, we felt the experience was quite expensive. While the flight itself was excellent and the scenery unforgettable, the cost would prevent me from repeating the tour on a future visit.
