What To Expect

This is arguably the best hike on the planet. The trail we take is facing the sunset the entire hike and we will choose the perfect place for you to see sunset, depending on your hiking level. Our world famous Canyon Chicken Wrap Awaits you for dinner at the best dinner spot on Earth. Best food in grand canyon above or below the rim. We will see the Golden Hour before sunset where the canyon’s colors really explode. After dinner and enjoying the canyon, we will hike up to the ideal spot to see the sunset's pastels and beautiful canyon shadows. This is the widest and most beautiful part of Grand canyon known as “the heart of the canyon.” We will take your camera and get amazing photos the entire trip. We enjoy finishing the final part of the hike by headlamp at night. This is everybody’s favorite part of the trip but you are welcome to request getting out before dark. . Animals come out at dusk and we will be hunting for scorpions with our black light. You will only do this once in your life, make the dream come true.

If you are taking the time to read this, stop and book the trip. Jon is everything you are looking for and so much more. He takes care of everything for you, he knows all of the spots for the most amazing pictures, he adjusts every trip to you and whoever you bring with you. That level of individualism to a tour is something you don't realize you are missing until you experience it, it's a hike into the Grand Canyon that is centered around you, the pictures, pace, food, distance, you name it, it is about you.

The sunset hike was truly a bucket list experience for my sisters (ages 54 and 50), mother (76), and me (53)! I agree with all 5 star reviews with how amazing it was but do want to note that it is a long day and there are steep drops. However, our guide Jon ensured we were comfortable, hydrated, and safe throughout the day. He also looked out for other hikers who were not part of our group by providing water, food, or guidance. Seeing some folks struggling back up the canyon reinforced our decision to use an experienced guide. I want to do it again with my kids!

Don’t hesitate to book this incredible experience!!! The value cannot be beat. Kevin took such good care of us and our two kids (ages 10 & 12). Everything was provided (shuttle service to the rim, water, snacks, dinner, hiking poles, even backpacks). They also accommodated all of our food, allergies. We loved hearing all of the cool facts about the Grand Canyon and stopping for amazing photo opportunities. It was an unforgettable day.

We had an unforgettable adventure trekking into the canyon on the sunset tour. Our guide Kevin was spectacular! He was well prepared, very knowledgeable and a pleasure to hike with. He let us set the pace (private tours rock!) and ensured we left the canyon smiling. Gear was top notch and clean. Snacks and dinner were PERFECT for the hike. Hat-tip for the frozen Gatorade. Highly recommended.

Our hike was amazing! Kevin was the perfect tour guide!! We had everything we needed and loved the great conversation and not only seeing the beautiful Canyon but learning a lot about it! Would definitely recommend!!!

We had a great time with Only Grand Canyon Tours. After signing up, Jon prepped us well for what clothes to bring, what to expect, and our guide Kevin took care of the rest on our South Kaibab Trail hike. Kevin had all we needed- hiking poles, backpacks, plenty of water & snacks, Gatorade, and when we got to our picnic site near O’Neill’s Butte, the chicken wraps were delish. Also cool- we took extra time going back as the sun set to look for scorpions and appreciate the changing landscape. Kevin was also quite handy snapping great pics in addition to taking great care of us. We had a once in a lifetime experience and I cannot recommend this guided hike enough.

This is an amazing tour. It was the highlight of our Grand Canyon visit. We took some amazing photos that will be family memories for years to come. Our tour guide Kevin was outstanding and extremely knowledgeable. I would give this tour 7 stars if I could. Absolute must do when visiting the Grand Canyon.

We had the most incredible time on this guided hike!! Kevin was so knowledgeable and patient. The company provided everything we could have needed-hiking poles, backpacks full of water, snacks and a frozen Gatorade. Lunch was great as well (totally prepared by Kevin on the trail). Our two boys (15 and 13) had no problems with the difficulty, in fact this was one of their most memorable hikes on our vacation.
Best option for family tour! So worth it!!

Absolutely incredible. I booked this tour with my husband and five kids (ages 7-15) and everyone loved it! Kevin and Christy were our tour guides and they were the best! We ran into Jon on the hike and he was great too! We did a handful of tours while visiting Sedona and my whole family agreed this one was the best. If I could only splurge on one experience this would be it.
