This trip was amazing! We were picked up from the hotel and given all our information. Our wrist bands and a map, so easy to walk through the tour it was a breeze. The train ride was great, lunch was delishious and I even threw a boomerang! The skyrail was awesome as well. I really enjoyed this tour

Get the Glass Boat or Snorkelling and then decide. The cruise boat takes 50 minutes to get out to the Green Island. Bring strong sunblock for the summer sun so your souvenir is not a bad sunburn to mess up your time off. I say get the glass bottom boat OR the snorkeling because that way you have a choice. Depending on your time, you can use your allotted free time to decide during your trip if you want to pay extra for the snorkeling. Many people got the snorkeling but stayed very close to the beach so they did not see much underwater. For your snorkeling you can rent a mask, fins, snorkel, and wetsuit for about $30 USD. Get the wetsuit because the jellyfish are small and almost invisible. You do not want a sting souvenir either. You can rent a swimming vest to keep you afloat. If you are not a good swimmer you will use more time in the water. I am a great swimmer so I was able to snorkel, do the glass bottom boat with my wife at the time we were given, and then go back to snokeling, keeping my wetsuit on because once it was wet it kept me cool on land with sandals. I had my own GoPro, but you can rent one too. Great Adventures is the largest company for the Green Island. They give you the time to meet at the glass bottom boat and to return back. We left for Green Island at 10:30am and left Green Island at 2:30pm. It was enough time for us. We didn't get lunch. On the small island there are extras like that and bathrooms on the island and boat. Wear a form fitting swimsuit under your shorts if you want to make a quick change at the beach instead of a changing room to save time.

Booking through this website was very convenient. The trip went smoothly; however, it is important to confirm that your hotel has pick-up and drop-off services arranged by the agency. Overall, we were very satisfied and enjoyed the trip.

They picked me up from my hotel, but the bus was running about 45 minutes behind. I was still traveling and there was no one else at my hotel on the tour so I thought they had forgotten my stop. No one communicated with me and was about to get an Uber to the starting spot when the bus finally showed up. It would’ve been nice to have been notified that they were running that far behind. They had waited for some folks that were 10 to 15 minutes late getting to the bus and it would’ve been nice out, of the respect for the other travelers, if they had either left them behind or communicated to the rest of us as to why it was so late. The tour itself was pretty rushed. The train was cool but hard to get any good pictures if you’re not sitting by the window. I don’t think you would miss much if you drove to the village. Because I got the butterfly experience, the only time I got in the town/shops was walking from the train to the butterfly exhibit. I could’ve skipped that and popped into the shops, but this wasn’t really communicated that it was either or. We then went about 10 minutes down the road to the cultural center, which also wasn’t communicated that it was not within walking distance of the village. We had a “traditional Australian barbecue” lunch. It was just buffet barbecue chicken and was honestly pretty underwhelming. I would’ve rather stayed in the village and had my choice of food. We then watched an aboriginal dance, which was honestly pathetic. The dancers had no energy and seemed like they would rather be anywhere else. We watched spear throwing and didgeridoo playing which were lackluster at best. We did get to throw boomerangs which was fine, but you only get one throw. The duck book tour was my favorite part and the guide was energetic and knowledgeable. They’re also tons of bright blue butterflies, which was super cool to see. The wildlife Park was also worthwhile. Lots of animals just roaming around and lots of the quintessential Australian animals you want to see. We were then shuttle back to the village to catch the cable car back to town. I did enjoy this, but it is quite a long ride and there are two stops on the way down which we’re worth seeing. Definitely a more fun and unique way to get around than a train or a bus. We then got back on the bus and got dropped back off at our hotel around the time they expected we would be there which was good. Overall, probably wouldn’t do this to her again. I would get myself to the village and have time to do the shops and the butterfly exhibit on my own time and then stop it go to the wildlife Park on the way back to town. If you like being herded around in big groups without having to do any thinking than this is your tour, but if you like to do things more at your own pace or want some built-in flexibility, I would skip this one.

The combination of the Skyrail and the Scenic Train complete the experience. Kuranda itself is small, especially the walkways and butterfly garden are recommended.

Great tour, great value. The landscapes, rocks, fauna, pretty much everything beautiful and one of a kind. Per usual, crackpot Aussie guides, drivers and admins. A little spiritual Odyssey. I highly recommend this trip.

Not worth, Train is way too hot & the view not that exciting. The Wildlife part ist just sad. Those animals don‘t have enough space. Skyrail got cancelled cause of the rain. so we couldn’t do it. overall only cute part is the butterfly sanctuary otherwise classic mass tourism.

It was a well organized tour. Several guides greeted us at different locations. It was more of picking up and dropping off services. The skyrail was really impressive and massive 😆

Such an amazing experience, highly recommend for anyone who is up in cairns to check this place out. $322 for the day, with transport included lunch, entry fees / tickets for Skye rail and train, butterfly sanctuary, army duck tour. Well worth the money.
