Our Grand Turk whale watching adventure gives you a front row seat to one of the most impressive shows on earth, here in the Turks & Caicos Islands. You might be lucky enough to witness these beautiful, impressive and gentle humpback whales put on a repertoire of mind blowing behaviours ranging from males’ acrobatic competition for a female, a single male’s haunting pursuit of a mate or a whale mother’s gentle educational displays to a newly arrived calf.
Seeing these amazing creatures live, often at an arm’s length, has changed the lives of many people: let it touch your heart and enrich your way of seeing the world! In water encounters are possible when sea and behavioural conditions are ideal.

Passengers flying from Providenciales for same day excursions must speak to the reservations agent to be sure arrival and departure times coincide with boat schedules. Caicos Express airways in our preferred domestic airline and we recommend booking refundable tickets in case adverse weather forces cancellation of the tour.
Minimum drinking age is 18 years
Participants must be at least 4 years old.

What To Expect
Grand Turk
Humpback whale watching season is at its best in between mid January and mid April. You'll board the specially designed and built whale watching vessel at the beach for a 3.5 hour journey out to an area that has had many sightings. The boat has an elevated fly-bridge giving the captain a higher vantage point and increasing the possibility of sightings. The captain will also try to coordinate with other boats in the area. Once whales are located, the boat will head out to where they are and observe them from a distance, being careful not to startle them or disrupt them, whilst giving you a front row seat to the greatest show on earth. Sometimes they will approach the boat and hang around for a while.

5.00We were lucky enough to see two pairs of mother and calf humpback whales and even more lucky because we got to swim with one paid for at least 5 minutes! What an incredible experience. The whole crew went above and beyond to make our experience special, even when they repeat the same trip two times a day we still felt the enthusiasm from all crew members. Highly recommend!!

5.00This was truly a once in a lifetime / bucket list experience! Not only did we get to see six whales, we got to swim with a mother and calf pair for an extended period of time. It was magical how these gentle giants trusted us. But really it was also Ocean Vibe's respectful and protective manner of interacting with these animals. At the end, we went to the Wall and dropped a mic into the ocean to pick up whale song too. There were four distinct male whales singing to their heart's content, while our marine biologist guides explained more about the whales migration patterns and lifestyle. Great job to the crew and we are so glad we went with this company!

4.00We really enjoyed our whale watching thanks to a very frisky baby humpback who performed acrobatics for us for 30 minutes. Its mother was very chill as she kept an eye on us. She didn’t do any “tricks” but it was cool to just be near her seeing and hearing her breathe and dive. Her size was mind boggling. We saw other spouts and a mother/calf pair for a short while. It would always be nice to see more whales, but it’s always a crapshoot when you’re dealing with wild animals. I was excited to have seen the baby breach, spy hop, flap its tail and do cartwheels with its tail. The boat was very large and fortunately there were only 20 people on board so there was plenty of room to move around to get a better view of the whales. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The trip was a good value for our dollar.

5.00Me and five friends chartered the boat for a half day whale watching tour. We had 5 separate whale encounters. On 3 occasions we got into the water. The first time, Mama and baby were moving too fast and we didn’t see them. The 2nd time, we had about 30 seconds directly over the mama. We thought that was about as good as it gets. Our guide Rosalee said let’s give it one more try. Our 3rd time in the water was a life changing experience! We spent over 15 mins swimming with a baby whale! It was almost like she wanted to play!! Twisting and turning and at times we were less than 3 feet away. Mama stayed about 15 feet below us. The three person crew Abraham, Dimitri and Rosalee were super accommodating and really wanted to make sure we had a good experience!! They absolutely delivered! Thank you OceanVibes

5.00I spent some time in Grand Turk and went both whale watching and snorkeling with the whales with Ocean Vibes. I am so impressed by how, ethical, educational, and focused on the whales this team is. Jamie and Rosalie would teach throughout the expedition and take special note to quiet everything down as we approached the whales. Everyone should experience this, I cannot reiterate it enough. I’m definitely planning a trip back this next year and I look forward to seeing the Ocean Vibes crew again.

5.00We had a great time on the tour. The boat was fast and roomy. The marine biologist guides, Rosalie and Jamie, were knowledgeable and helpful. We saw four pairs of mothers and babies, the fourth pair swimming with an escort. At the second sighting, we were able to get into the water and swim with the whales. Ocean Vibes was the most responsive tour company and helped us book the tour in spite of limited availability.
