As the first of its kind in the Southern hemisphere, MOUA will act to highlight reef conservation, restoration, and education on a global scale. The site located on John Brewer Reef is rich in history, with a strong connection to our indigenous culture and marine tourism.
The Coral Greenhouse – first submerged building design by world-class artist Jason deCaires Taylor is is a bucket list trip no one should miss! The greenhouse, which many people think of as glass walls filled with fruit or flowers instead boasts a beautiful mix of art and science. Trees, life-like sculptures, and coral gardens make this staggering 72m structure a wonderland for divers.
With plenty of reef nearby to explore and depths ranging from 1 to 20 metres, it is ideal for snorkelers, beginner and experienced divers. On the reef, schools of bait fish are common as well as an abundance of colourful reef fish. Turtles, Stingrays, White and Black tip reef sharks are often sighted.

Thoroughly enjoyable day trip out to John Brewer and Loadstone Reefs with Adrenalin Snorkel & Dive. We were gifted with calm conditions albeit a slight current due to the full moon. Viz was ordinary (not the tour's fault) at John Brewer but was able to see MOUA and the surrounding reef life. We had favourable wind conditions and were able to visit Loadstone Reef which was better viz (full sun at the time of visiting helped), so a more enjoyable snorkel. Professional tour with exceptional/attentive staff including Master Reef Guides on board to fill you with everything "reef" and a top skipper full of knowledge and great stories. We are seasoned snorkellers and did the Introductory Scuba Dive - well worth it albeit low viz at JBR. Our dive instructor, Pierre, was amazing. He was professional, extremely patient and gently encouraging which made us feel safe and comfortable the whole time. What more could you want for your first dive?! Iced water, cordial, fresh fruit, biscuits, protein and salad wraps (and sauces) provided and enjoyed. A big thank you to all the crew - Paul, Rob, Caitlin, Pierre, Daniel & Nadine for a memorable day out on the reef off Townsville. Highly recommended.

Fabulous day out on the reef We had one scuba dive through the underwater museum and a glorious snorkel over the reef. Staff were great A little rough on the way out so some wet travelers, but that’s part of the adventure. If you need a comfortable reef trip, go on a big boat from Airlie.

I went to the Great Barrier Reef and what an experience it was! From start to finish the staff were so friendly and helpful really making you feel welcome throughout the whole day. It was my first time diving and I paid for the two introductory dives as well as the snorkelling and the instructors were crystal clear with their explanations and really patient with us newcomers and by the second dive we got to really explore the Great Barrier Reef. Was a 10/10 day would really recommended using these guys for such a great day out.

Fabulous day trip to snorkel on Reef and around the MOUA, simply stunning all round. Crew were exceptional, attentive to everyone’s needs ( experienced divers and novice snorklers alike) . Was a joy to experience the Reef for the first time and the care and passion the Captain and team hold the Reef and its regard.

Museum is for divers only. Snorkellers will only see the art from above. Everything else was outstanding

This was such a fun trip even for someone who did not learn to dive in time. Snorkeling was top notch, guides were super helpful and knowledgeable about the reef and most importantly seemed to really care about its preservation and educating us about it! Lots of snacks as a huge bonus :)
