Then, we switch gears and head into nature with a peaceful rainforest walk through ancient, towering trees.
On the way back, we cruise the coast through charming towns like Apollo Bay and Lorne. And yes – we guarantee wild koala sightings, plus a good chance of spotting kangaroos bouncing through the bush.
So if you're after a laid-back, wildlife-packed, photo-worthy adventure that skips the stress and doubles the fun–this is the tour for you.

This was an amazing trip. Our guide Peter was on time at our hotel for pickup and his sense of humour and knowledge kept us going for the whole trip. The great ocean road is amazing takes about 12 hours from the start to the end but it’s a lot of stops in between and Peter ensured we were away from big tourist buses and had secret spots which showed a wallaby, koalas and kangaroos in their natural habitat. Highly recommended

Pick up near your hotel in the early morning and pick up the rest of the members in front of the next station. In the car, there is a detailed guide to the formation of the town and music. Our first break was a delicious coffee at Cafe La Hoot. And... Go to the Great Ocean Road coastline you wanted to see. The view was amazing. First we went to Gibson Steps. There is also time to descend and return to the coast. Next, we went to the famous Twelve Apostles. This is the first time I've ever heard of the fact that the 12 rocks aren't aligned. Next, we looked at Shipwreck Coast and Razorback, famous for their tales of Namba boats, and enjoyed the stunning coastal views. The day we arrived was calm, but the strong winds sometimes made it impossible to walk. Next, we went for a walk in the temperate rainforest. I also met koalas in the wild. I thought I was just lying in a tree, but it was great to see a koala walking. After that, head to Apollo Bay Beach for lunch. To the place. There are other shops besides George’s recommended by the guide. George’s Fish & Chips and Pizza were delicious. Then, through Wye River to Lorne. Cockatoo, a slurred cockatoo, was a rare sight. Kangaroos also looked on from afar and ate delicious ice cream on the recommended The Chocolateries Great Ocean Road. It was an amazing tour, and the guides were interesting to learn more about.

We had a wonderful trip along the Great Ocean Road today with Patricia. She was funny and shared many historical and interesting stories about Victoria along the way. We even saw a koala sleeping in a tree during the trip! Pick-up and drop-off were right in front of our hotel, which made everything very convenient. Highly recommend!

the “reverse tour” was a great move because on this particular day we were so fortunate to experience “better” weather at the beginning of the tour (throughout the morning). the evening brought weather that has been melbourne’s coldest (since their winter season). but i will say, the great ocean road is beautiful no matter what the weather may bring. tip: if it’s cooler a specific day it’s probably a good idea to bring a jacket. the good thing is that you’re able to leave it on the bus between stops so you’re not having to worry about carrying things. most importantly, our tour guide chris was incredible. it’s such an asset having a host who has life experience and historical knowledge in the region because guests are able to receive a less tourist-y and more of a local experience which is brilliant for interstate and international visitors. he was also welcoming and had great humour. it made the tour comfortable and enjoyable. also a thank you to our guide chris for taking us all to a small town coffee shop called “café la hoot” in winchelsea and a restaurant called “george’s” out at apollo bay. whenever i’m at home or when i travel i always like to support small businesses. honourable mention: great playlist. such a vibe.

I think it was a planned trip, but thanks to the kind guidance and invitation of the guide, we managed to keep our schedule running smoothly. The rock of the 12 Apostles, which I had hoped for, was a spectacular sight. I also enjoyed walking in the rainforest. It was also worth listening to some detailed introductions. It was a very satisfying day!

We loved our experience, even though it was a long ride, but we didn’t feel it, because of the nice places we stopped by. Our driver/guide was lovely and gave us many informations on our way to all attractions. We didn’t understand everything he said, because we’re not fluent in English, but he repeated the information when needed. We loved our tour!
