4-hour adventure to Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake features stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife, ideal for nature lovers, bird watchers, and photographers. Led by a Utah local and former African safari guide with expertise in local ecology and history. Highlights: Scenic Drive: Enjoy a drive onto the island with panoramic views of the Great Salt Lake and Wasatch Mountains. Learn about the island’s history, geology, and ecology. Wildlife: Explore varied habitats and spot herds of bison, pronghorn antelope, and mule deer. Birding: Antelope Island is a birding paradise. We'll look for species like American avocet, bald eagles, and burrowing owls. Wetlands and salt flats attract migratory birds year-round. Photography: Capture dramatic landscapes and wildlife. Your guide offers tips on composition and technique. Ecological Insights: Learn about the lake’s high salinity and its impact on local flora and fauna. Buffalo Point: We'll visit one of the most panoramic vistas in the Great Salt Lake! 5.00Great trip to Antelope Island to see bison, antelope and migrating birds. Sinad was well informed and shared her knowledge. We were not staying at a hotel, so we agreed to meet at The Aviary. She was on time and easy to locate. She was friendly and personable. She provided binoculars and water. She made sure we were able to see the wildlife. Great trip to learn about Salt Lake and surrounding area.

5.00We had an amazing experience. Sinead was great at pointing out the many different birds that migrate to the Island. She had binoculars available for each of us to use. We learned about the history of the Island, details on the animals and geology of the region. All in all it was a fantastic day!

5.00Clayton was our expert tour guide for our trip! He is extremely knowledgeable about both the wildlife and the history of the island! Our trip was 3 guests (I was a solo traveler) which felt very personal and uniquely curated. On our tour there were many opportunities to observe and photograph the species on the island including antelope, bison, jackrabbits, coyotes, burrowing owls, and many bird species (Clayton had a birding field guide to help ID each species). There were stop offs for bathroom breaks (Clayton knew which were the cleanest), the visitors center (to get an idea where the bison herds would be that day), and the Fielding Garr Ranch House. Clayton and his wife own and operate the Safari Utah tour company and their personal dedication and attention to detail shine in their tour experiences! We had access to pairs of binoculars for observing distant wildlife. Pickup was easy directly from our hotel, and the trip was about 5 hours, including the drive to and from SLC. I would very highly recommend booking your unforgettable Antelope Island experience with Safari Utah!

5.00What a beautiful day we had on Antelope Island with the best guide, Sinead. She is an expert on the island’s history and the incredible wildlife. Our vehicle was immaculate and comfortable. I’d recommend this excision to anyone and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

5.00I had a wonderful experience on this tour and would absolutely book it again. One of the things I appreciated most was how easy and convenient everything was. Sinéad picked me up directly from my hotel, which made the whole experience stress-free from start to finish. She was incredibly thoughtful and intentional throughout the day. She took the time to accommodate my interests, and as someone who enjoys birdwatching, I loved being able to nerd out about birds. I saw several species I'd never seen before, which was a real highlight. We also saw an impressive number of pronghorn, which she told me was unusual and made the day even more special. I was especially impressed by how respectful she was of the wildlife. Throughout the tour, she was consistently mindful of animal behavior, often adjusting our position or timing to avoid spooking them and being considerate of the paths they were taking. It was clear that wildlife welfare came before getting the perfect view or photo, and I really appreciated that approach. She also provided binoculars, snacks, and well-timed restroom breaks, which made the experience comfortable and enjoyable. As an added bonus, she took some wonderful photos of me at several scenic locations, allowing me to enjoy the experience without worrying about documenting everything myself. Overall, it was a lovely day filled with beautiful scenery, amazing wildlife, and thoughtful hospitality. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. It was one of the highlights of my trip, and I would happily book with her again.
