The Great Wall at Badaling
Great Wall is the very symbol of ancient Chinese engineering. The Badaling section is a prime, preserved example of this colossal structure. Since Spring and Autumn Period (770 BC - 476 BC) and Warring States Period (476 BC - 221 BC), Badaling became a very important military strategic place Many incomplete parts of the wall were proved to be built in the Warring States Period. Here you will have the opportunity to climb up either the North or South Face of the Wall.
Ming Tombs (Ming Shishan Ling)
Ming Tombs, burial grounds to 13 of the 16 Ming emperors. Only three of the tombs are actually open for viewing. Changling, the earliest and largest of the tombs, dates from the year 1413. We will explore the largest of the excavated burial sites, the Changling Tomb, which is divided into three separate, impressive courtyards.

My trip to Great Wall of China at Badaling and Ming Tombs was absolutely amazing. Out tour guide Mary was brilliant. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the tour included a visit to a jade store as well as an authentic Beijing tea house. Mary really went over and beyond to give us the best experience possible. Her extensive knowledge of Beijing's history, culture and politics interweaved with her own personal stories made the tour all the more special. Can't recommend her enough!

This was a small group tour that ended up being a private tour when the other family cancelled. We got picked up and dropped off at our hotel, which was so nice, and driven to the Badaling section of the wall. Our guide, Murphy, was really good and went up the wall with us (going up in the gondolas is an extra charge). We stopped by the Ming Tombs, then had a buffet lunch of traditional Chinese food at a spot where all the tour companies go. Just keep in mind that there will be pressure to see the jade and tea products after, but we declined and there was no problem doing that. Overall, this is a great way to go see a very popular and beautiful section of the wall.

The tour was great, the only thing is that the weather can really affect the quality of your experience. The day we went it was foggy and you could only see about 30 feet ahead of you, compared to the majestic views you see online of the wall going up and down the hills at a distance. If the weather is really cloudy and foggy, this may limit your experience as it did mine. What was a delight was the jade tour and teahouse experience, but beware that they may sell you items that might be purchased at much cheaper in the markets in Beijing. I bought a ceramic and porcelain tea cup for 65$ CAD that i later found out was 5$ CAD each in the market. But the experience in being in a jade-like museum and teahouse was a real treat, hence 4 stars.

What a fun tour! We got picked up and dropped off at our hotel, which was so convenient. The van was comfortable and had good a/c. Our guide, Murphy, is exceptionally knowledgeable and gave us some helpful and interesting info both beforehand, and throughout the tour. He went with us up the wall and took several photos of our family along the way. The Ming tomb area was also really cool. My husband suffers from chronic back pain and Murphy was very mindful of that. Overall, we had an awesome experience,
