The Great Wall at Badaling
Great Wall is the very symbol of ancient Chinese engineering. The Badaling section is a prime, preserved example of this colossal structure. Since Spring and Autumn Period (770 BC - 476 BC) and Warring States Period (476 BC - 221 BC), Badaling became a very important military strategic place Many incomplete parts of the wall were proved to be built in the Warring States Period. Here you will have the opportunity to climb up either the North or South Face of the Wall.
Ming Tombs (Ming Shishan Ling)
Ming Tombs, burial grounds to 13 of the 16 Ming emperors. Only three of the tombs are actually open for viewing. Changling, the earliest and largest of the tombs, dates from the year 1413. We will explore the largest of the excavated burial sites, the Changling Tomb, which is divided into three separate, impressive courtyards.

The tour was very professionally organized. Our guide Jenny contacted us a night before the tour to let us know about the pick-up timings the next day and she was very punctual and was dot on time to pick us up. The vehicle was also very comfortable and the tour company made sure they stored enough water in the vehicle to last all the group members throughout the day as it was a very hot day. Jenny was thoughtful in the way she had planned the tour so that we avoid the busy hours on the Great Wall and also the hot temperature. The Ming Tombs were great and a lot of history was involved. The traditional lunch organized by the tour company was very scrumptious. Since we had requested for pure vegetarian meal, Jenny made sure that we were satisfied with the meal. The Great Wall experience was great. Though you need to be careful when climbing the wall as it is very crowded and the steps are uneven. I would high recommend this tour if you are short on time and want to do a lot in a little time frame.

Michael Shi was a very attentive and helpful guide. You could clearly see he takes great pride in doing the tour professionally and gives very good and detailed explanations. He kept the group moving along at a good pace while giving us a lot of context on Chinese history for the Great Wall, Ming Tombs, but also other things, such as the importance of jade, and tea culture. The Great Wall was an amazing experience, perhaps take notice of the time as it was really hot and busy (Michael provided us with plenty of water throughout the trip). The Ming Tombs were interesting, and here I thought Michael's explanations really enriched our experience. Finally the lunch and visit to the jade museum was great, and the tea tasting at the end was a great way to cap off a busy day. Definitely recommend adding this to your itinerary!
