Discover “the fairest land ‘tis possible to see” on our Green Gables Shore half-day tour from Charlottetown. This is the quaint, historic region of Prince Edward Island that inspired L.M. Montgomery’s classic 1908 novel ‘Anne of Green Gables.’ You will see rolling hills of farmland, sandy beaches and sandstone cliffs. Tour the popular Prince Edward Island National Park and Green Gables Heritage House with a knowledgeable guide, visit a fishing harbour, pass by oyster and mussels farms, then stop at the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company with artisan preserves, fine teas and giftware. You will return to Charlottetown within 4 hours, leaving you time to explore the compact, walkable downtown on your own.

Needed about 30 minutes or more at Green Gables. There was a long line getting into the house (which is all about timing) and long lines to check out. Which we didn't get to browse the gift shop as much as we would of liked and was no able to make a purchase. There was also a short walking trail that I would have liked to go on. but didn't have time. Maybe the guide should emphasize these options and tell us if the lines are too long we should go to the next site. The tour guide was very good and enjoyable and knowledgeable.

The tour guide and driver were lovely and it was worth the half-day trip for the Anne of Green Gables House and photo op at Cavendish Beach. Since the focus was AGG house, I suggest the provider consider skipping the 15min stop at PEI Preserve Co. in New Glasgow and the 15min stop in North Rustico in favour of more time around the AGG house to explore LM Montgomery's Cavendish home and gravesite, and nearby Avonlea village.

I learned a lot on this tour! Our guide was a lifelong resident of Prince Edward Island, and she shared lots of stories about growing up on the island. I loved hearing about the PEI lobster industry. But of course the highlight of the tour was the Anne of Green Gables house.

Tour starts with a brief drive through Charlottetown, then stops at the Preserve company where you can sample their flavors. Then a short drive to the Green Gables house, which is why I booked the tour! We had an hour there which was an adequate amount of time to see everything and get a bite to eat at the cafe. The drive through the countryside was picturesque and our guide Maura Lee (native to PEI) gave interesting anecdotes along the way. Stopped at a lookout point along the coast and then stopped at a fisherman's cove to see a lobster trap (which seemed random). Overall a very good experience and would recommend!
