Discover “the fairest land ‘tis possible to see” on our Green Gables Shore half-day tour from Charlottetown. This is the quaint, historic region of Prince Edward Island that inspired L.M. Montgomery’s classic 1908 novel ‘Anne of Green Gables.’ You will see rolling hills of farmland, sandy beaches and sandstone cliffs. Tour the popular Prince Edward Island National Park and Green Gables Heritage House with a knowledgeable guide, visit a fishing harbour, pass by oyster and mussels farms, then stop at the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company with artisan preserves, fine teas and giftware. You will return to Charlottetown within 4 hours, leaving you time to explore the compact, walkable downtown on your own.

I highly recommend this tour. The drive was scenic and the tour guide was very knowledgeable giving wonder history and facts along the way. The walk through the haunted forest was beautiful, we found some fairy holes along the way.

Joan the tour guide was kind and gave a lot of historical info and facts about PEI. Laverne is a great bus driver. I wish we had more time at Green Gables.

The tour guide spent almost all of the time talking about PEI’s agricultural industry and very little about Anne of Green Gables or Lucy Maud Montgomery. We only had 7 minutes at Cavendish Beach, 10 minutes at the Island Preserve Company, and 1 hour (total, out of a 4 hour tour) at Green Gables, which wasn’t nearly enough time to see all that was there. We had unexpected stops to look at lobster cages (which took away time from Green Gables) and returned 27 minutes late. I would have been better off going to Green Gables on my own.

The tour guide on the bus tour of Charlottetown and Green Gables was fantastic! She was full of fun information regarding the history, habits and homes on the island. We especially enjoyed learning all about the life of and constraints on lobster fisherman.
