Khor Virap
Khor Virap is the most famous pilgrimage site in Armenia, as it is directly connected with the adoption of Christianity. As a state religion, Christianity in Armenia was adopted in 301 due to endeavors of Saint Gregory The Illuminator, who, before converting King Trdat The 3rd to Christianity, was imprisoned in the dungeon, over which a church of Khor Virap monastery was built in the 17th century. From the monastery one can admire the stunning view of the Biblical Mount Ararat.

My tour with Hayek was absolutely spectacular! From start to finish, every moment was perfectly planned — we covered so many amazing places without ever feeling rushed. Hayek’s deep knowledge and passion for Armenia truly brought the country’s history and culture to life. Thanks to him, I completely fell in love with Armenia — its breathtaking nature, fascinating history, and the warmth of its people. Hayek helped me see the country for its pure beauty, far beyond what I expected. It was one of those rare experiences that stays with you forever.

A long day but so worthwhile. Fron the first monastery you see Mt Ararat and Turkey, the second is a lonely hermitage in a rocky canon and the third is reached after a spectacular climb (in the coach). Coming back down is a breath taking cable car ride. The guide, Hike, was very good in his explanations and got me on the cable car! Which was the amazing experience he said it would be. Our driver Leven was excellent on really challenging roads. The scenery was spectacular.

I had a great time in Southern Armenia with our guide, Anna. The tour was effectively organised and smoothly executed. The place we went for lunch was a nice addition to the day. The drive from and to Yerevan was also comfortable and safe.

Beautifully organized tour. The guide Anna was very exhaustive and engaging in explaining the places visited. The time available was perfect and the visiting times were also respected. Also excellent lunch organized for us in full Armenian style.

Three very significant sites in.Armenan history. A long day but the drives went through some beautiful landscapes. It was a large group and the tour was conducted in two languages so things took longer than.optimal, but Marina, the guide, did a good job keeping the group on schedule and gave relevant information. Patak, the driver, drive smoothly and safely through some tricky roads.
