We had a great time at the chocolate factory tour, cheese factory tour, and the Gruyère medieval village. It’s a full day but did not feel rushed. We had 2 hrs 45 min of free time to explore the village, which was long enough to sit down for a fondue lunch and explore the castle (we bought tickets to go inside, or you can walk the perimeter for free). It is possible to do this trip on your own using trains and buses, but it was worth it to us to do this tour to have the logistics handled for us.

This tour was the highlight of our Switzerland trip! It started off with our excellent tour guide Telis picking us up at the hotel which was super convenient then it was smoothe sailing from there. From the breathtaking scenery to his great knowledge of the country along with his great vibes and music selection, the trip was just fun and fantastic! The factories were very informative and interactive and Telis also gave helpful suggestions on how to transport the chocolate to avoid it melting; lunch at the cheese factory was a delight, having tried cheese fondue for the very first time. This trip was definitely worth it and I would recommend this with the scenic train ride through the mountains.

This tour was so much fun from the minute we walked on the bus, because our tour guide, Roger, shared informative narrative and history along the way and sprinkled it with humor and ways to participate in the dialogue. Roger made sure we were informed of what was to happen at each activity and gave suggestions to ensure each of us could have the best experience. We had so much fun, ate so much delicious chocolate and cheese, and, bonus, we learned so much across the trip, the activities and the charming medieval town. The mountain views were exceptional. Thank you, Roger!

We had fun taking this tour of Gruyere Chocolate and Cheese factories. Our guide, Normunds, was excellent. He has a great sense of humor and took good care of us. The bus seats are a little to tightly packed for my liking, but since it’s a relatively short drive it was manageable. Delicious chocolate samples convinced me to buy some in the gift shop. Both the chocolate and the cheese tours were interesting and educational.

The first thing is when you arrive at bus terminal go across the street at the Swiss tour office and wait for guide. Better than standing outside avoiding buses. Our guide Roger was very nice and accommodating but his voice was very hard to make out while he was driving and speaking thru microphone describing scenery 0n our excursion. We had another guide with him who never said a word. I thought he might be training. Our first stop was to the chocolate factory. It was very interesting and extremely tasting. You will have a chance to buy the goods after tour and boy did we load up on that delicious chocolate. The next stop was to the cheese factory. It was shorter but interesting. Loaded up on cheese to take home. The older the cheese the saltier it becomes. We then spent time in a town village. It was great. We were there for 2 hours. Wish it was 4 because so much to see and do and we ran out of time. There is an alien museum and bar and we had no time to visit after spending our time in the castle. My advice is lengthen tour to accommodate. There were great places to eat but no time. You either ate or toured. No time for both. The scenery from Geneva to Gruyère was awesome.
