Enjoy an exciting day of off-roading in the famous Sonoran desert aboard your multi-passenger UTV! To book single-passenger ATVs for this tour, check out our "Centipede Tour - Guided Arizona Desert Tour by ATV." You will experience some of the best trails Arizona has to offer. Conveniently located just north of Phoenix at the base of the breathtaking Bradshaw Mountains. Our tours create a scenic and educational journey amid the rugged Arizona landscape, with opportunities to see abundant desert wildlife. You will be with us for up to 3-hours total. Up to 1-hour check-in followed by up to 2 hours of training & riding.

What To Expect

Enjoy an exciting day in the famous Sonoran desert, off-roading on some of the best trails in the stunning Bradshaw Mountains just north of Phoenix. Travel through giant Saguaro cacti, deep canyons carved by flash flooding rains, and cross the Agua Fria River to experience the wild and vast desert terrain. This tour creates a scenic and educational journey amid some of the most rugged landscapes Arizona has to offer while searching for the abundant desert wildlife such as coyotes, bobcats, deer, rabbits, quail and even rattlesnakes. Bookings are per vehicle. If your group requires more than one vehicle, please create multiple bookings. Max of 4 people per vehicle.

Overwhelming Dust & Fumes Made This Hard to Enjoy

Overall, the tour was well organized, and our guide Lorenzo was friendly and professional. Bottled water was readily available, which we appreciated, especially in the desert heat. We also enjoyed seeing the desert scenery and wildlife, including cows, donkeys, and even a snake. However, the experience did not fully match the description. There was no education about the region’s plant life, wildlife, or history during the ride. Additionally, helmets were not provided—only goggles and a face covering. The biggest challenge was the ride itself. Because this is a “centipede” tour, you are required to stay close behind the UTV in front of you. With four UTVs ahead of us, the amount of dust and fuel fumes was overwhelming. At times, I felt close to getting sick from the smell and the constant dirt in the air. Even with goggles and the face mask, dust was still getting into my eyes and nose, and I believe a helmet would have made a difference in my comfort. The trails were also extremely rough, with large and sharp rocks, deep dips, and uneven terrain. There was even signage indicating the trail is intended for experienced UTV riders. Given that, I was surprised there weren’t more safeguards in place to help reduce risk—especially since riders are financially responsible for any damage to the vehicle. The combination of sharp, rugged terrain, limited visibility from dust, and the requirement to ride closely behind others made the experience feel more risky than it needed to be. I was honestly surprised no one ended up with a flat tire. We’ve rented UTVs in Utah and California before and preferred those experiences. While there were some enjoyable moments on this tour, we would not choose to do it again. If we were to book with this company in the future, we would opt for a non-guided tour to avoid the dust and fumes from riding directly behind other vehicles.
