Set out on a 20,000-acre (8,095-hectare) tract of tidewater cypress swamp close to the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve. Your flat-bottomed boat is leisurely guided through the shallow marshes. Discover bayous lined with mossy cypress and tupelo-gum trees as your captain points out a stunning variety of wildlife. Enjoy a fully narrated tour by a local guide. Prepare to see plenty of alligators in the warmer months (and warmer days in winter), some of which may be out sunning themselves on logs! Your guide may even feed the gators, affording you amazing photo opportunities. Also keep your eyes open for turtles, snakes, egrets, herons and ibis. You may even catch sight of a hawk, owl or bald eagle. In the cooler months, look for white-tailed deer, raccoons and the large rodents known as nutria.

Overall positive experience. We chose the leisure covered swamp tour. As my first time it was nice to learn about the natural habitat. If you’re wanting a slow pace, leisure, relaxing boat your, this would be a good choice.

Guide was full of stories and great dad jokes. My friend is pregnant, so could not do speed boat, and we had a lovely time on the swamp tour. Don't feel like we missed out not doing the speed boat at all.

Terrible money grab. They drive you at 5mph around the corner to a dead end and float there for an hour. After 30 minutes all adults were playing on phones and kids were sleeping on the dirty floor. No wild life, no sights to see. Just drove over a bridge and see more. I signed up for an airboat ride, not a garbage barge. What they do and don't tell you is, if they fill up the airboats, everyone else gets jammed into garbage barge. Try and complain and they tell you that's all they have. No refunds, no other boat. And now you look like the bad guy if you complain. Awful, bait and switch.

I was pretty taken aback by the pour albino alligator being kept in a tiny indoor pond, it seems quite inhumane. On top of that, there was a lot of trash in the water around the boats and waiting area. The bayou was gorgeous but we didn’t see much wildlife, which was pretty disappointing and the music on the boat was really loud. The pick up/drop off process was very smooth and I’m grateful for it, but overall, it was a lot of waiting around to be underwhelmed.

Our guide either talked about hurricane Ida or played loud music most of the time. We did see 3 gators but he did not tell us anything about gators. I still don't know what their natural food is, how big do they get, how many teeth do they have, how often do they eat? Not a thing nada. We were told they would feed them marshmallows, not our guide. He was content to drive the pontoon and play his music. Will not recommend. Looking for another swamp tour that will be more entertaining and informative.

We had a great time on the covered boat. Went with our baby & toddler. Free parking near the boat launch area. Spotted few crocs, birds & spooky trees.
