The belfry is the most important building on the Grote Markt. This square is surrounded by guild houses with an ancient history.
Basilica of the Holy Blood
The Basilica of the Holy Blood has an impressive facade with gold-colored statues. You reach the upper chapel in neo-Gothic style via a special staircase. There is also an elevator. You don't want to miss this! The lower chapel is completely different. It surprises with the thick walls, small windows and the unique atmosphere. The centuries-old town hall is located on the same square. This building with the slender towers is an absolute eye-catcher. Here the guide will tell you about the statues and coats of arms.

5.00A great introduction to Bruges. The tour covered the key areas for Bruges, providing insight to each area. The tour was one hour of walking followed by a 30 minute canal cruise and then another hour touring by foot. Frank was a wonderful tour guide. He made the tour enjoyable and had some good recommendation for food and shopping.

5.00The boat ride in the canal was lovely, if cramped, but the kudos belong to Bernadette, our walking guide. She had a strong voice, which helps in a group setting, and a wonderful disposition. Bernadette gave us interesting information and kept the group on schedule. I really think she made the tour so enjoyable.
