This was an excellent experience. It turned out that we were the only people on the trip and we saw lots out of our motorbike tuk-tuk. Visited the lotus farm and the floating village that was by dry land at the time as it was the rainy season. We also went out on the boat to the floating village further out, paused to look at some crocodiles in captivity, one of which was a big old beast and then on to a wonderful old boat that was nearly one hundred years old to stop for a drink. Our guide, I am so sorry I have forgotten his name, was wonderful. We learned so much about life as we went along on the boat and in the tuk-tuk. We also had a great chat whilst on the old boat. This was a fantastic, low key way of finding out more about life in Cambodia while having a great time just chilling. We did not feel like we were intruding on the floating village and yet saw lots and learned a lot.

Mr V aka Bean was the most exceptional tour guide! He was kind, friendly and funny! I just wish I meant his earlier in my trip! He’s also like the major- knows everyone and really personalized my experience while providing education in an enjoyable way! He’s a best! Lotus farm, and river boat cruise in a private tour! We went to the lotus farm, even stopped to see crocodiles and on the big boat for a bite all while going through the floating village.

We learned about this company in the Lonely Planet book, and read the philantropic story about the tara boats on their website. Very nice story about restructuring sunk boats to organize visits based on fair rates. Actually this company is 100 % scam. We booked a tour for 5 persons. 26$ each. We took a boat to a main shop-boat very turistic and had a drink on another boat. The actual tour was 2x15 min. On our way back, we realized that the guide simply paid a ticket in the harbour for a boat for 5 people for 28$ that we could have bought ourselves. See fares displayed in the picture. We would have probably seen much more with this option. Conclusion: we were robbed by paying 5x the price! If you want to visit the floating village, just come to the harbour and buy you ticket there.

We were able to see how the people live here, the tour guide speaks English well and had shown us how people here gets a murky water clear to be ready for boiling and drinking. Also included was visit to Lotus Garden

It's a lake the size of Iwate Prefecture, but I don't think there's a problem if you can come to Cambodia and see it. Well, living on the water is like not having to transfer to a boat and go see a movie. Crocodiles can be eaten at market value. I hear it's about 15,000 yen. They say it tastes like chicken. You can also lift a snake. It was a dollar. You can do it at the floating market. I personally don't recommend it.

We were quite disappointed in this tour. We somehow expected to be on a big dinner boat as pictured in the brochure. Nope..a river taxi was the mode of transportation. The floating village was actually very interesting, however, but the stop at yet another tourist trap, was unnecessary. especially as the small boats came up to ours begging for money. The Queen Tara was just an old boat. Food was so-so. The all-you-can- drink drinks didn't make up for anything.

I had high hopes for this tour but my reasons for 1 star as below 1) It isn't mentioned anywhere that it's about a 25min drive in a shuttle bus to the port, followed by 20mins on a small boat to the Tara boat (which is anchored and doesn't go anywhere) 2) The buffet - fried rice, fried vegies and a few other similar dishes. Very basic food and not very exciting or nice 3) The general vibe just felt off. The group that I joined for this tour felt the same about the whole experience. Save your $$.
