Reykjavik
We depart from Reykjavík and begin our scenic drive along the South Coast towards Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.
Volcano Eyjafjallajokull
Eyjafjallajökull is one of Iceland’s most famous volcanoes, best known for its 2010 eruption that disrupted air travel across Europe. This glacier-capped stratovolcano offers a striking view, with ice and fire coexisting in one dramatic landscape. Its name comes from the Icelandic words for “island mountain glacier,” perfectly describing its powerful presence.

Mikki was excellent, very knowledgeable, excellent tour guide, safe and efficient driver. Kept the tour moving on time, with perfect time lengths for each stop. The vehicle was very clean and the perfect temperature.

This is the worst tour I have ever been on. The itinerary was changed from what we signed up for resulting in no supper break for a trip returning at 9.45pm. We were told insted to buy snacks at one of the stops. However by far the worst and most frightening part was that the passenger exit door developed a fault during the day and instead of a replacement van being sent out, we were expected to exit and enter via the back emergency exit with no steps down and quite a drop. After one exit this way I gave up thus missing the waterfall visit altogether. I tried to ring and email the provider from the van (open 24h a day) but had no reply to the phone attempt and to date no response to my email. Did this spoil the day? 100% it did.

I had an incredible experience on the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach tour. Our guide and driver, Fioss, made the entire day memorable with his knowledge, storytelling, and genuine passion for Iceland’s history, culture, and landscapes. Although the tour was long (about 15.5 hours), every minute was worth it. Along the journey, we stopped at several stunning waterfalls and breathtaking viewpoints. One of the highlights was when Fioss took us to his “favorite spot”—an unbelievable view of a lagoon where a lush green mountain seemed to connect with an icy glacier-covered mountain in the distance. It was one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever seen. Before arriving at Glacier Lagoon, Fioss told us about the optional boat tour that takes you closer to the glaciers. We were able to add that experience on the spot, and it ended up being one of the highlights of the day. Seeing the glaciers up close was absolutely unforgettable. Despite being a full-day excursion, this tour is perfect for anyone who is short on time but wants to experience some of Iceland’s most spectacular natural wonders. The scenery was breathtaking, the stops were well planned, and Fioss’s stories and local insights made the experience even more special. I highly recommend this tour!

It’s a 15 hour long trip and you see just 2 waterfalls and the diamond beach/glacier lagoon. While the 3 sights are great, there is not adequate time to enjoy them as one is always rushed due to the distances. This should be a 2 day trip covering more sights.

It was a long trip, but of course we knew that: really worth it! Our guide Gudjon Jes (if I write it that well) is a very nice guide! Very relaxed, drives super and told a lot but not too much and in a very nice way, with humor. Thanks to him he had a very nice day and saw a lot: beautiful waterfalls, diamond beach and the lagoon with seal, great enjoyed!!

My husband and I just came back from this trip and we wanted to give a huge shout out to our guide, Gudjon Jes! He regaled us with stories and history of Iceland and was funny and knowledgeable. I am a big fan of mythology and older civilisations and his stories of the Vikings were very enlightening and fun. He also took us for an unscheduled stop to see Dverghamrar because a guest asked about it. 15/10 highly recommend Gudjon!

Gudjon Jes is a funny and informative guide. He provided a variety of facts ranging from historical to mythological. He was also quite patient as he had to find a wayward tourist at one of the stops.

We had an absolutely amazing day on this tour easily the best day of our trip to Iceland. It was a very long day (around 16 hours) but it genuinely flew by because of our guide, Mikki. We got to visit both beautiful waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Definitely bring waterproof clothing if you can, especially for the waterfall stops. You get much closer to the waterfalls than expected and the spray from both Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss can leave you soaked, but it’s completely worth it for the experience and photos! See incredible viewpoints along the drive, and experience some of the most stunning scenery we’ve ever seen. Mikki was absolutely wonderful throughout the whole trip so informative, friendly, easy to chat to, and he made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. You could really tell he cared about making the day enjoyable for everyone. There were plenty of toilet stops throughout the day as well as lots of opportunities to grab food, drinks and snacks, which made such a long tour much more comfortable and relaxing. Mikki also came very prepared with plenty of bin bags and paper towels available which was such a thoughtful touch and really appreciated by all. Everything felt very well planned and organised from start to finish. Despite the long hours, the tour never felt exhausting because the atmosphere was so good and there was always something incredible to look at. We would 100% recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland. Thank you Mikki for such an unforgettable day!
