This trip will take you on one of Norway’s most popular and spectacular hikes. It is for good reason that this hike has gained its popularity with visitors to Norway and locals alike. Situated only a few hours from Stavanger, Pulpit Rock - or Preikestolen in Norwegian - is a towering cliff-plateau directly suspended over Lysefjorden. To stand (or sit) so close to the edge is probably the moment that hikers look forward to the most, although it is no easy deed. The top offers unobstructed views over the meandering blue fjord that was formed by the glaciers during the last Ice Age, making it a good spot to enjoy a photo session and possibly a light snack.

Probably wasn’t needed but was still fun to meet other people and the guide, Marias, was such a nice guy. The ride was late and we waited for 40 minutes before we were if primed. Total of an hour waiting outside. So that was annoying but the guide was great.

Thank you kent ( I hope I spelled it right😅) for a unforgettable trip to the pulpit rock. I've just found the film you talked about, Troll hunter, guess I'll be trying it at some time soon. Loved your jokes and explanations. Also great thanks to all our group members. I hope our road of life cross each other again

Saw some others on tripadvisor saying they’re tour guide cancelled, this operator says they travel in all conditions so don’t need to worry about that. The group size was perfect 6 (including me and guide). Our guide was very friendly and funny and so was everyone else on the trip. Very relaxed and would 1000% recommend!

The actual day went very well. The guide was on time and he was super friendly, he picked us up from our rental apartment. The company have equipment to borrow should you need it. We booked with them as we needed the transport there and use of crampons incase of ice. The guide was a lovely local man who was really easy to get on with, and he provided us with some interesting facts about the area which was really nice. The hike itself wasn't too difficult and not very long, but was really icy so we were glad we had booked a guided trip for this. The weather held out and we had amazing views once up at pulpit rock and we had it to ourselves! The company itself were not great at communication which was a bit frustrating. We were hoping for a confirmation at least the day before (at the least because it was forecast gale force winds and heavy rain so we were doubtful it was even going to go ahead. We tried emailing twice, and calling and got no response). Viator were great with trying to get communication from them, and we did get confirmation in the end, but don't expect anything from the tour company!
