This trip will take you on one of Norway’s most popular and spectacular hikes. It is for good reason that this hike has gained its popularity with visitors to Norway and locals alike. Situated only a few hours from Stavanger, Pulpit Rock - or Preikestolen in Norwegian - is a towering cliff-plateau directly suspended over Lysefjorden. To stand (or sit) so close to the edge is probably the moment that hikers look forward to the most, although it is no easy deed. The top offers unobstructed views over the meandering blue fjord that was formed by the glaciers during the last Ice Age, making it a good spot to enjoy a photo session and possibly a light snack.

What To Expect
After pickup in Stavanger, we'll have a short drive to trail head. Our hiking adventure takes us in beautiful landscape. When reaching Pulpit Rock, we can adore the scenic views from the top.

5.00Our guide Arla was terrific! Met us on time, promptly drove our group to the base of the mountain, and got us on the trail early. She had a great pace for the uphill trek, given the age range. Despite the unbelievable winds, she took our pictures individually. Such a great bucket list experience!!

5.00Published degree of difficulty is WRONG. Should be Moderate-Medium. Many folks on this hike (not in our group) should not be on it. I, along with another person on our hike rendered help to a lady ascending. Felt terrible for her but also affected our psyche.

5.00This hike is probably more on the moderate side - but Else was very patient and prepared. She also was extremely knowledgeable about Norway’s history and wildlife which was fascinating to learn about. The view from the top is incredible and absolutely worth the trip. Would highly recommend. Thank you Else!
