This trip will take you on one of Norway’s most popular and spectacular hikes. It is for good reason that this hike has gained its popularity with visitors to Norway and locals alike. Situated only a few hours from Stavanger, Pulpit Rock - or Preikestolen in Norwegian - is a towering cliff-plateau directly suspended over Lysefjorden. To stand (or sit) so close to the edge is probably the moment that hikers look forward to the most, although it is no easy deed. The top offers unobstructed views over the meandering blue fjord that was formed by the glaciers during the last Ice Age, making it a good spot to enjoy a photo session and possibly a light snack.

Although the weather wasn't good enough to hike, we still had fun with our great guide Andrea. She helped us to take good photos and taught us a lot knowledge about this area. We did have a great time on the trip.

Brilliant experience. Our guide Kant was extremely knowledgeable and added totally to the experience. Communication with the booking was easy and all went smoothly. The hike itself was made all the better with Kant's knowledge of the local area and in particular the fauna. He made all feel safe and the day was filled with thrilling experiences. Rate extremely highly.

Spectacular place. A walk of medium complexity, but worth every step! Being in Norway, don't stop doing it. One of the most beautiful places in the world, no doubt.

We joined this tour since there’s no shuttle bus from Stavanger to Pulpit Rock in October. Our guide picked us up at the Radisson Blu Atlantic Hotel around 7:15 a.m. and drove us to the Preikestolen Parking (P1). He was very friendly, patient and attentive, and we really enjoyed the experience, even though it was a rainy day.

The guides who accompanied us on the hike were great but the communication from Viator and tour operator was poor. I changed my hotel 4 days before the tour and gave them the new hotel name but could not get anyone to respond to me to confirm the new pickup place. Viator received the response from the tour operator but didn't communicate to me. I had to call at 10pm the night before to get the response from Viator.

The walk was spectacular. The weather was very good, which helped a lot, but the trail was very beautiful and the view was the best part. I picked up two Argentine guides, a man and a woman (unfortunately I do not remember their names), but they were very attentive and patient with everyone: they respected people’s time, always asked if we were okay and gave us tips during the tour. The translate searches in the location you put and is quite punctual. The group of people I stayed with was very nice and I was able to meet new people! As a solo traveler and woman I felt very safe throughout the whole tour, from beginning to end. Take water and snacks, a good track tennis, a good wind cutter and prepare your knees and legs because the track is relatively challenging, but the view makes it very worth it. I recommend going on a day without rain.

Wow! What an amazing experience, I am so so happy I did this! My tour guide was great, the views were incredible and the trip was well organized but most importantly, I felt safe. I will warn you, if you have bad knees this could be a very very very difficult hike for you, especially on the way down. I am in my 30s and my knees spasmed at the end - I've never had that happen but my years of soccer caught up to me on this hike! If you're out of shape this will be tough, but not impossible just take breaks. My iPhone said I climbed 143 flights of stairs just for reference. Lastly if you're irrationally afraid of heights don't do this. If you're moderately afraid then you can do this. I would say I am a little more then moderately afraid but I had good support by the guide and other hikers and I pushed through the fear. It was worth it!

Enjoyed the challenging hike. However, the Guide was not helpful or encouraging. He shared many stories about those who did not make it. This caution is great to know, but at the same time it is helpful on a challenging hike to get some positive encouragement. His words of caution were so much that at the end one individual felt bad for being slower and turned around. We had total of five in group with three individuals who were fit and in their late twenties and two individuals in 60s … this was not a good match for pacing . The individual who turned around could have made it with a slower pace and some positive encouragement … this was a trip of lifetime for her. Guide hung back to chit chat with others many times rather than assist those needing help.

Good walk, it's harder than it looks and you have to be fit. The setting is amazing. Erle is great, friendly and very attentive to everything. Fully recommended!
