In this part of North Iceland which is particularly famous for its horses. Apparently, it is the only part of Iceland where horses outnumber people and if you are lucky enough they might even take a break from their grazing and follow you for a spell.
Whether you are after a few splashes or a shorter relaxing drift we can find a starting point on the river for you.
This tour is weather dependent, you will get a little wet due to the design of the kayak.
It’s a good recreational activity for anyone at any skill level. Age limit is 12 years unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please specify when booking if you will be bringing individuals younger than 12 for the trip.

5.00This is truly unique experience. While I’ve white water rafted before I’ve never done so on a river that originates from a glacier. The water was flowing fast which made for great rapids. Our guide Rabbi Shrestha was very familiar with the river and instructed us to paddle at just the right moments to get the best passage through. And there was enough flat water to catch your breath and regroup for the next set. The stop at the hot spring was welcomed and hot cocoa from the spring was a nice touch. Only downsize is that it was good drive from the base camp to the river and a bit hot with all the cold water gear on.

5.00The tour was full of fun. Simvi (?) the Icelandic guide gave us all important instructions, answered all questions and was helpful with the equippment and wetsuites. The river was not deep, one could easily stand up. Since you are just sitting on top of the kajak, nothing happens in case the kajak flips. The landscape was so beautiful and calming, we could have paddeled along much longer. The guide also took pictures for us so we didnt have to bring our own camera. Simvi also told us a lot of interesting things about Iceland. He is a funny guy who always tried to make everybody feel safe and having a great time. This trip is definitely worth booking!

5.00We had a terrific experience with the rafting tour with our guide Suraj from Nepal We feld verry safe and de canyon is amazing. The man in the kajak from Czech republic is slso verry funny and responsible. Thank you for saving my doughter after the jump from the rock. The hot chocolate stop is also very nice We had so much fun on our river rafting experience. We couldn't stop smiling. Thank you all so much.

5.00We had booked a Kayaking tour with our family, kids 12 and 15 years old. It was a very great tour of about 1 hour on the river, amazing landscape, great floating and paddling down the river. You got fully equipped clothing and we had an extremely nice and friendly guide. Special thanks to Rabi for your guidance on this wonderful experience and for taking all those pictures for us!
