Marseille is the oldest port in the Mediterranean and the oldest city in France over 2600 years old! With such a rich history and a multitude of colorful faces, it is an exciting and vibrant city. From early barbaric tribes, the Phoenicians, the Romans, The Crusaders, to kings, Napoleons, the wars, battles, triumphs and her glorious ascent to the Capital of Provence and European Capital of Culture. Marseille, eternal.
I've been guiding in Marseille since 2018, with a unique view as a French-American. I cater the tours to the participants and I talk with them, not at them. This is a high quality, small group, personally crafted experience. After the tour, I orient and guide guests to other attractions in the city or great places to eat.
I am also a historical researcher, novelist and screenwriter. But the tour is far from just a history lecture, as we discuss the culture and society of Marseille. An absolutely must-have experience that will leave you wanting more! See you, Sarit.

Visit to the Old Port of Marseille on 1 April at 4 p.m. Book A36411004 through Civitatis, being Silvercat Tours provider: I find it embarrassing to be sent the cancelled activity message SEVEN minutes before it starts. When you yourself indicate that you should arrive at the starting point TEN minutes early, and you could have called me in the morning so that we would have organized the day differently. Not to mention that I called the phone indicated on the reservation, 0034675515304, and NO ONE answers. Very regrettable and unprofessional.

We had an amazing experience in Marseille thanks to Sarit! From the very beginning, she was warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly engaging. She made the city come alive with her stories, insights, and passion for Marseille. Sarit went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and truly enjoyed every moment. She tailored the experience beautifully and shared special spots and local details we would have never discovered on our own. If you’re visiting Marseille, I highly recommend Sarit, she will make your trip unforgettable!

The old town of Aix offers countless opportunities for visitors interested in history in a small space. Visit the market day in the "old Aix", see the fountains or the numerous shops of the city. Admire the old, sophisticated villas, some of which serve as hotels. Drink a glass of wine in or outside the cafes. Listen to the chatter of the old fountains in the shade of the plane trees or stroll through the alleys. Don’t forget the Cathedral of the Old Town, maybe a ceremonial wedding is taking place here right now. ...by the way, the many small shops certainly offer a bargain or two.

Sarit was very informative, with lots of history and stories. The route was also very well planned, and she gave us suggestions for other things to check out after the tour.

Sarit was our tour guide and she was so friendly and patient with us. She was very knowledgable about the history of Marseille. We walked throughout parts of Marsaille. She took us to a neighborhood where we visited some shops and saw some local people. She introduced us to some soap and lotion made with donkey milk (amazing) and some hot wine. 😊 I highly recommend this tour and Sarit is the one to take you on your tour.

This is a private walking tour to the old historical section of Marseille. Good information for each of the five stops plus a restroom break for the group. At two and a half hours walking tour for a group of eight, the total cost would be better spent with a local food tour that would cover similar ground with some tasty food.
