We were so blessed to have Ngawang as our guide. We had a couple in their late 70’s who wanted to see Tiger’s Nest. We took the donkeys to the Cafe and walked the rest. Suzie, 79, was able to make it to Tiger’s Nest but too tired to climb the stairs to the Temples and rested. We received a very impressive description of the Temples from Ngawang and the spiritual connection to Buddhism. This is where Ngawang’s compassion and strength came through… our hike back down was challenging for Suzie and Ngawang provided the support to make sure she could hike down. He was by her side with a strong supportive grip the entire hike back. It took the rest of the afternoon and we were unable to see other sites on the itinerary. We were ok with that because Suzie made it to Tiger’s Nest as she wanted to so much to see. We all made the best of it and without Ngawang, it would not have been possible. A big thank you for making it a truly memorable experience!! Namaste

We spent five days in Bhutan, a charming country with really beautiful sites and temples. We were six adults and four children, and everything was well organized. We highly recommend this trip relying on this agency. The guide and driver were always kind and helpful, even with children. The hotels were comfortable and the food always good. A serene and pleasant experience that we definitely recommend! Thank you Thinley!

I can’t say enough about my trip to Bhutan and my experience with Thinley Tours. I did a 3 night/4 day itinerary in early July 2025. From the very beginning when organizing, Thinley was responsive and accommodating. I appreciated that I was able to work from a typical itinerary but then personalize it to my interests – adding locations I had found in my own research and dropping a couple to make time for them. Thinley made it super easy to arrange the logistics by taking care of the e-visa, purchasing plane tickets, and handling all the other entrance fees and hotel reservations. (The hotels were awesome, btw!) Sonam was my guide and Jigme was my driver. They were both WONDERFUL. Honestly, I don’t do guided tour packages very often, and I was hesitant about whether I would like being with a guide and driver the whole trip. I ended up loving it! Sonam and Jigme added SO MUCH to the trip. Sonam shared interesting information and insights about Bhutanese culture, language, and history. He explained aspects and history of Buddhism that added to the experience of visiting the monasteries. Sonam and Jigme took a real interest in me too – we had a conversation about favorite foods and about my love for agrotourism (going to a market, buying fresh food, cooking with a local, and then eating the meal we make together). They remembered what I had said and surprised me on the last night – we had plans for me to get the traditional hot stone bath at a local farm. When we got there, Sonam told me he had bought eggplant at the market (I had told him it is my favorite vegetable) and he had arranged a cooking session with the farm’s owner of a traditional eggplant, chili and cheese dish. It was such a lovely experience and so touching that they remembered and considered my interests! Similarly, Thinley – the company owner – asked to meet me one night in Thimphu, treated me to ice cream, asked for any feedback on my experience, and then walked me all around the shops to help me find high-quality artwork and gifts. I love that this company is woman owned and, not only that, owned by someone who takes such a hands-on role in ensuring your visit is all you want it to be. If you ever considered going to Bhutan, don’t hesitate – GO. And book with Thinley.
