  Halong Bay is stunning but unfortunately it's turned into a theme park with the amount of people in the area. If you only have one day to visit there's not much option but to bite the bullet & join the crowds. Last time we visited we stayed on Cat Ba island which was quieter, less boats and more chilled. Trip was well organized & good value but be prepared for the crowds.

• A Day in Halong Bay by Floridians

  This was an excellent day tour in Halong Bay. We saw the cave, ventured the beach, climbed the steps to see the city 🌆 scape from elevation, cruised the harbor in bamboo boats and back to the City by 8 pm. The food on the boat with lunch included was ample and many different dishes. This was in total 8am to 8pm for an incredible value of $46US each. “Ken” our tour guide was friendly, and had a sense of humor to boot! He made the trip not only short but informative and fun 🤩. If the bus driver left the A/C on in the bus this would be even better but he was conscious of energy savings. They could raise the price $2 and leave A/C on in the bus. We highly recommend this day tour for those not wanting to spend a night in Halong Bay.

  A great day out seeing the sights of Halong Bay. We could only manage a day to see the sights as we were squeezing it in a day and this tour had lots of different activities and ways to see the bay. It is a long day but the bus picking you up and dropping you off makes everything easier. Thank you to Sonny who was our guide. He was very informative and helpful!

  The guide, Sunny, shouted at me and my friend in front of the group for being late from the kayaks even though we were waiting like 20mins for free kayak and were kayaking exactly 29mins, just like we were ordered to. Then (after double checking) he apologised to us. First check, then shout, man. Except of that, the Halong Bay is absolutely overcrowded. I’ve met some new friends on the boat so it was fun anyway, but except of that it was a total disaster. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!
