After a late cancellation of another experience, we decided to book the Brim Explorer, conveniently moored just outside the Clarion Hotel—and we’re very glad we did. The electric (hybrid) catamaran provided a very smooth and quiet ride through the fjords, with minimal sway. It’s a great option for anyone who might normally worry about sea motion or seasickness. There’s a bar on board serving hot and cold drinks along with pastries—the cinnamon bun with a coffee is a must. With around 48 passengers on board, the experience felt relaxed and enjoyable without ever feeling crowded. The crew delivered a clear safety briefing and were friendly and informative throughout the trip, sharing interesting details about the landmarks and local wildlife. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a comfortable and scenic fjord tour.

We were so fortunate with the weather and the sunlight danced across the waves as the boat travelled along. The scenery was awesome. Our stop at the fishing racks was very interesting especially as I’m a fervent cod liver oil capsule taker. The cruise is 4 hours in length which is quite a long time, however a chilled gin and tonic sipped on the top deck of the boat does make the trip extra special.

Great scenery, informative commentary and an interesting stop at a ‘fish processing small factory/musuem’. The boat was busy and warm….but still comfortable. Hybrid engine was very quiet. Lots of photo opportunities. Thank you to all of the crew.

It was a fun ride on the water. The views were beautiful (before the fog set in). The crew was nice and gave lots of info about the fjords and wildlife.

The water was a little choppy on the day we did this but the view was gorgeous. There are prettier fjords in Norway but if you're only in Tromso, this was a fun way to spend a couple of hours. The staff gave some fun, informative talks during the ride to keep you entertained if you prefer not to face the cold air outside.
