There is some access to the bus, if you have a Walker or a Wheelchair, but these items must be folded. There is a small step. There are handles each side of the door to help.

What To Expect

Ferry Building

Our main pick up point is alongside the Ferry Building on Queens Wharf. There's a pick-up & drop off area, that's the spot. Alternatively, we offer 4 central pick-up locations. Let us know where you are staying and we will advise the closest pick-up point. This is a very comprehensive tour and we pack a lot into the 3.5 to 4 hours. You will get a real feel for Auckland. It's geography, history, sights, and our way of life. This tour is family run, and the commentary is detailed, full of insights from a local perspective and delivered with humor.

Viaduct Harbour

We drive along the downtown waterfront area, past the Viaduct Harbour, which is one of Auckland top "going out" spots. Great selection of restaurants and bars. Lots of boats, and home to the America's Cup yachts, and Whale & Dolphin watching boats

We got picked up at our hotel, but at our request got dropped off after the tour at the harbor. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. He made the tour enjoyable. We had enough time to walk and sightsee at each stop. There were enough bathroom stops which is good.

The tour was interesting. John is an excellent driver and guide. We liked that he wanted to know about the group and where everyone was from. And shared his personal experiences. The only negative was the group sitting behind us that talked throughout the tour. It was difficult to hear a lot of John's commentary.

You do get to see a lot on this tour. If you are spending several days in Auckland, do this early and decide what places you want to go back to and spend more time. The tour guide was just ok, but might as well have been a recording as he did not answer any questions.

It was a comprehensive tour for 1/2 a day covered a lot in 4 hours. Johnno was very knowledgeable. This tour was very good value for its price. One suggestion though is that the Mount Edna stopover should be at least 50 min to 1 hr, as time is needed for climbing and stops at different vantage points / lookouts, for photo taking. It was very rushed and we had to arrange another visit on another day to cover it properly.

The meeting spot for pickup was a little confusing because the link sent through trip advisor didn’t work. Overall, it’s a good preview short tour around Aukland with photo stops. There were plenty of opportunities for bathroom breaks and even a short stop at a cafe for sandwiches and coffee. The van was well air-conditioned and the driver/tour guide used a microphone so he could be heard. The driver Jono/Jonathon stuck to the schedule so that’s appreciated.
