What To Expect

The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses

Being picked up from your hotel at 7:30 a.m, you will commence your memorable Terracotta Army exploration tour. It will take about 50 minutes of driving from Xian city to the museum. Upon your arrival at the museum, your tour guide will accompany you to every corner and explain to you this magnificent site.Discovered in 1974, Terracotta Army and Horses Museum is reputed as the Eighth Wonder of the World. There are altogether three pits, each filled with expressive life-sized soldiers and horses. They were made based on the actual ancient people and life. It’s said that these figures were colorful upon excavation, yet it gradually fades away due to the oxidation. Now, archaeologists are trying to bring back their true appearances. This is also why the museum is not equipped with air conditioning or heating devices, which may change the temperature and humidity inside and therefore damage the priceless relics. You will also see the model of the mysterious Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang. There are many theories regarding how it was like inside the tomb. However, the most common one is that this tomb is filled with mercury. All the antiques would be greatly destroyed upon excavation unless certain protection measures are taken. Your tour would come to an end after about 3 hours tour in this impressive site. Your tour guide will escort you back to your hotel and bid you farewell.

Our first time to see the terracotta army and our experience was made even more special by our guide Melanie who was charming and knowledgeable. She came to pick us up at our hotel at 7.30 so that we could get in early (strongly recommended). We were driven there and after we got our tickets we were in! It was truly amazing to be face to face with a world long gone and have someone who could tell you all about it in an informative way. Very recommended!

Been on several group and private tours over the past week in China but this one was by far the best. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, accommodating and very kind. Looked after me and my 7yo like we were old friends. Easy to understand as her English was great. Highly recommend using this tour specially if you want to see the terracotta warriors and if you only have a day in Xi’an. Thank you for such a lovely memory.

Myself, my wife and both sets of our parents we only in China for a short while. We only had one day in Xi'an and it was absolutely awesome in large part due to our guide Stephanie. We were able to book last minute and she was very accommodating with our schedule. Able to arrange all transportation, tours and meals for the day. Recommend 1,000%. She is the sweetest lady and is very knowledgeable with very good English. Give her a call!
