What To Expect
The captain sets the course for good fishing spots while sailing in spactacular surroundings. Bring yor own fishing rod, use one of ours, or join the trip just to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the old boat itself. On this trip you get to feel both the excitement while fishing and the peace and quiet on board. Catch the big cod, take in the views, explore the beautiful boat and get to know the exciting Hermes II story. And have your camera ready; the nice photo spots are almost uncountable. Heated lounge below deck and warm suits for free use. Local food and beverage for sale. Hot drinks included. Welcome on board!

5.00We arrived late due to buses crashing, the skipper and the crew waited for us and gave us our own safety briefing. We were all shown how and where and when we could fish on the boat. I think all but one man caught fish, with a young man catching 5, my friend caught 4 and I had one (my first ever fish caught on a line) It was bitter on the day of our trip, but the crew provided us with warm fishcakes, hot drinks (purchased). And at lunch time we had some of the fish (cod and halibut) we had caught. We were invited up on the bridge and the skipper who was very sociable went through all of the instrumentation available to him to keep us safe. We had numerous fishing sessions, a tour on the south side of the bay, saw sea eagles, had a very informative talk on the history of the boat. I'd definitely recommend this excursion

5.00I had an amazing day on this fishing trip! The crew made everyone feel so welcome from the start, and the boat itself was beautiful and very well maintained. Everything was explained clearly, which made the experience easy and enjoyable for everyone, even those who came alone. The fishing was fantastic — we caught fish and even got to enjoy it for lunch, which made the whole experience even more special. On top of that, the views were incredible, making it a perfect day all around. I would definitely do this again and highly recommend it to anyone. A big thank you to the crew for giving us a memory we’ll never forget!

5.00The Hermes II cruise was one of the highlights of our trip to Tromsø. The boat is beautiful, full of character, and the experience feels very authentic and intimate. What stood out the most was how kind and welcoming the guides were. They made everyone feel comfortable and were clearly passionate about sharing their knowledge and stories. The most incredible part of the experience was being patiently taught how to fish—and actually catching a big cod! It was such a unique and memorable moment. We also want to share something personal: I am Black and my friend is Asian, and even though most of the other guests appeared Caucasian, we did not feel out of place at all. The atmosphere was warm, respectful, and inclusive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. And to top it all off, we saw sea eagles up close—absolutely breathtaking. The scenery is stunning, and being out on the water gives you a completely different perspective of Tromsø. The small group size and cozy setting made it even more special. Highlights: Catching a big cod after being patiently taught how to fish 🎣 Seeing sea eagles up close 🦅 Exceptionally kind and welcoming guides Inclusive and comfortable atmosphere Cozy historic boat with lots of character Warm drinks and local snacks onboard Overall: A truly special experience. We would highly recommend Hermes II to anyone visiting Tromsø.

5.00This was an excellent trip and we throughly enjoyed it especially my husband! The crew were friendly and helpful and it was well organised. I recommend you take the thermal suits they offer you to wear as it was very cold but the suits kept us snug. We got to eat the cod that was caught and had coffee and tea and a fishcake too! The only thing you don't get is your own fishing rod if the trip is full so we had to share the rod between 3 but this was still fine and we all got a substantial go to catching fish!

5.00We went in January. Beautiful weather but wrap up warm. The team and captain were so friendly and we were well looked after. An absolute faultless trip. Was the absolute highlight of our holiday! Don’t visit Tromso without booking this trip!

5.00Our Fjord and Fishing cruise on the Hermes II was easily the highlight of our trip to Tromsø. If I could give them 12 stars out of 5, I would! The Crew & Service: The service was truly superb from start to finish. The crew were amazing—attentive, knowledgeable, and they made sure we had the time of our lives. They truly go above and beyond to make the experience feel special and personal. The Sights & Fishing: The fjords are absolutely stunning, providing a beautiful backdrop for the day. The fishing itself was a blast, and we were lucky enough to catch some incredible, massive Arctic cod. The Best Souvenir: One of the best parts was that the crew gave us fish to take home! It didn't go to waste—we’ve already enjoyed spicy creamy tom yum cod and pan-seared cod with lime. It was so good we even brought some back to London with us. If you are in Tromsø, do not miss this. It is an unforgettable experience with a top-tier crew on a beautiful, historic ship.
