What To Expect
Kuching
Kuching, the “Cat City”, is a heaven for tourist! It is one of the main tourist destination in Sarawak. Join this bike tour around the heritage building and temples, Malay Kampong, leaving you with a memorable experience! The ride is around 17km (10.5633 miles) and takes about 4.5 hours, with regular stops. Children are welcome with an adult. Apart from cycling around the heritage buildings and monuments, you will be taking a cruise across the Sarawak River on a traditional Sampan boat. You will be taking through the track of the rural Malay Kampong along the bank of Sarawak River, explore the village and savor of the variety of traditional Malay foods, especially Kuih Lapis. It is completely different from the Malay lifestyle in the city. Next, you will be exploring an open air market of Kubah Ria, a must visit market for visitors. You can find most of the Kuching’s favorite foods here. Such as tropical local fruits, vegetables and local handicrafts. Some forest produce including wild honey and exotic plants are also available in the market. Come and join us and experience the story of Kuching the best way possible – by bicycle!

5.00This tour came As part of our holiday and did not disappoint! Lead by Lister, our charming local cycle guide, we mixed cycling around the various markets and historical districts of Kuching with visits to a number of important Landmarks all with different cultural heritages. Bikes are a mix of off road and town bikes and either would suffice. Good hats and water are also provided. We went to the Chinese district sampling opium coffee (worth the experience), Indian open air market next to the mosque with a huge range of spices and also an open air but under cover cool fruit and veg market on the other side of the river to the waterfront Hotel. Plenty to see, hear and appreciate about the mix of different ethnicities living together. Plenty to taste and sample en route also. Lister made the difference as he was flexible, safety conscious on bikes at all times and a good conversationalist. Definitely recommend.

5.00We really enjoyed our bike trip with Aaron. He’s a very friendly, happy go lucky guy who loves to talk about his country and Kuching. Very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the on foot part of the tour as well as the gentle cycling through the villages. The boat across the river at the end was the cherry on top of a lovely day. Would highly recommend for all abilities

1.00If you go on the food tour, don't expect much food, and don't expect to be biking on rural roads - you'll be in narrow streets with a lot of traffic for a good chunk of it. Very disappointing.
Give this tour a go it's a fun way to experience the local culture, history and especially the food.

4.00Our guide was Kelvin and he was great. He had a very good knowledge of the Kuching area and it's history. It was a surprise to be taken to some local eateries for breakfast and snacks. A good combination of riding and walking and we even had a ferry ride at the end. We would thoroughly recommend this tour.

5.00Today I joined a small group for a bike ride with Laura. We started at 9 AM from the Paradesa office and returned at 1 pm full of impressions. There was only three of us. We started off with a hearty breakfast in the form of Laksa Noodles with coffee and also tasted some pastries. We visited India Street, learned about the buildings downtown and then cycled to a market just outside the city centre. Laura explained the different fruits and vegetables to us and then we saw the very nicely organized wet market. Then we cycled through two villages and returned back on the other side of the river, close to the huge parliament building. We finished with a silent boat ride (electric) to reach the Paradesa office. We did not cover a huge distance but learned a lot in the 4 hours that we spent with Laura. Safety first is her rule, and we did feel safe at all times. The mountain bikes were of good quality. I recommend a ride with Paradesa.

3.00Cycling, mountain bikes are of good quality, the escort is very kind, the boat crossing and sunset must be nice (we had waterspouts). But that is not the problem, the ride is very urban, between cars, only a small part is friendly near the river. It’s a shame because the idea is nice but the course not super interesting. As for street food, this means eating a laksa in a small restaurant next to the agency. There are a lot of very good restaurants in Kuching, this one is really not the best of our stay and is nothing extraordinary.

Aaron’s knowledge and the information he shared along the way were top-notch. It was our first time visiting Kuching, and this tour became one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you to the team for such a memorable experience,highly recommended!

5.00Excellent experience abd super guide Aaron. My wife, myself, and our kids3, 5 and 9 did the Bicycle tour. Our 3 year old in a kids Seat the two others had each a bike as they where both experience in bicycling. Allthough some of the Streets was a bit busy I have never experienced so thoughtfull car drivers allowing for a super relaxed tour with many great sights we would t have seen otherwise. Great tips and tricks from our guide for places to eat etc
