With this combination of coach and walk, we will enjoy the third largest city in Norway from different perspectives.
We will start our adventure with a 2-hour city tour by coach from Pirbadet, near the the cruise terminal. We will head to Solsiden, a charming and vibrant district and pass by the colorful boat and warehouses along the river Nid. Hotel Britannia and the royal residence Stiftsgården also a must-see on this tour. We'll make a photo stop at the Sverresli viewpoint with a wonderful view of whole Trondheim. From here we'll head to Kristiansten fortress, where we'll make another photo stop.
The walking part of the tour will start at Nidarosdomen, the beautiful, northern-most cathedral in Scandinavia and the best-preserved Gothic building in Northern Europe. We will enjoy Bakklandet with the small colourful houses, we cross the Old Town Bridge and have a look at the bicycle lift, the unique one in the world. All this followed by interesting and amusing stories of our guides.

Brilliant tour. Guide was fantastic. We saw the best sights in Trondheim ( although no time to buy tickets and enter the cathedral ). Walked through the old and the new. Definitely worth it. Viator representative met us on the quay, so no confusion. Short walk to bus.

Our guide was very knowledgeable, funny, and friendly. Trondheim is lovely. My score reflects only that the tour description wasn’t totally accurate. The bus portion and the one hour tour of the city was true. They did not mention the hour or longer walk back to the ship, no commentary, just hustling walk back. Why no bus??

Our group enjoyed the tour overall, combining beautiful vistas of the bay and fortress (two hours) and a one-hour walking tour of the church, royal residence, Old Town Bridge, and bicycle lift. However, at the end of the walking tour, the entire group was expected to walk back to the cruise ship port. Normally, the tour bus returns the passengers. This added at least 45 minutes of walking that was not advertised and proved challenging for some in our group. Walking distance is a big factor when deciding whether to book a tour, especially for those with mobility issues, so adding this much walking without notice was not OK. Our young tour guide was sweet and energetic, but her pace was too fast for many in the group. Also, there was no one from the tour standing at the meeting to direct guests who were walking from the cruise ship to the meeting spot until the tour was just about to start, which created some uncertainty. Good tour overall, but less active travelers should think twice.

We had two excellent guides and a fantastic bus driver. Excellent bus tour that took us to the sites outside the center of the city and to a lovely panoramic view of the city followed by an excellent walking tour of the center city.

Arrived on time only to leave 15 minutes late because we were still missing people who never showed. Told the bus broke down so they had to combine two tours… 80 people on a double decker bus. First stop went well, left on time even. Skipped the 2nd stop, Royal Gardens. When I ask the guide told me the itinerary was wrong we would catch that on the walking tour well that didn’t happen. The guides were knowledge and friendly. The bus tour went well but it was hard to hear the guide on the walking part due to the large number of people. Not sure I would book again. Seems like a racket full of excuses after my money.
