Our intermediate climb involves approximately 3hrs of climbing steel ladder rungs and crossing 6 bridges next to a spectacular waterfall and finishes with approximatley 45 minutes walk down a mountainside trail. This tour is perfect for active adventurers who love the exploring outdoors, waterfalls and beautiful places. You will be climbing next to vertical waterfalls and being happy with heights helps! Stay dry. No experience required.
If you are hesitant or just want a smaller taste, we recommend our Level 1 / Beginner climb.

Minimum age on this tour is 12 years. If you are under 16, you must climb our via ferrata with an adult guardian. For children under 12 a private tour may be an option. Please request upon booking.
All minors (16 years and under) require an adult guardian’s signature on their waiver. There are no upper age limits to this activity.
Please advise if over 220 pounds (100kg) or under 88 pounds (40kg)

What To Expect
Join us on the highest waterfall cable climb in the World. We are right there by your side as you challenge yourself and your comfort zone. Our Level 2, Intermediate climb, is an epic climb that just keeps getting better. The route follows on from Level 1 with great views, and some steeper sections. You are guaranteed a climb you will remember. Our tours take place on a private working deer farm, nestled in the mountains, 20 minutes drive from Wanaka. The air is clean and the views just keep getting better and better the higher we go. It is an adventure of a lifetime. We proudly stand by our clean record – with guides, training, gear and policies that keep it that way.

5.00From start to finish a really great activity. Started as level 1 and when we reached the end my family ended while I upgraded to level 2. Level 2 was harder and another 1 - 1 1/2 hours but 100% worth it. Friendly, supportive and knowledgeable leaders which made you feel safe but not 'molly coddled'. You are incharge of your activiry.

5.00Fantastic guides and great training. Amazing experience with confidence in the team and equipment. We had the most gorgeous weather so rung climbing up the side of the waterfall and enjoying the views all the way. Not for those with vertigo or real heights phobia. But fantastic if you’re just a little nervous, confidence building and you need to be able to pull yourself up and across the rungs

5.00A fantastic trip up a big waterfall. We have done Via Ferrata's before so it was not a new experience but this one is unique right next to such a big waterfall and the organisation of the group was excellent with good equipment, excellent safety briefing and a very safe and competent guide, Rachael. We learnt a new safety tip even though we have done many before! Highly recommend!

5.00This was my and my friends’ first via ferrata experience, and we all loved it! I was surprised also at how pretty the view was from the wall, I don’t think the photos on the website did it justice. Shout out to our guide who took really fun photos from above us and shared them for free after the climb.

5.00This was my favourite experience in NZ. The ferrata course allows you to tackle challenging terrain more easily - this was easily doable with a (very) moderate level of fitness. It's a great experience - literally climbing up the side of a waterfall and crossing bridges back and forth across it - so much fun! We had fantastic views all the way back to Wanaka. Our guide Maddie was very reassuring and encouraging. She made sure that everyone had a great time. The provided morning tea and lunch (from Fedeli Cafe in Wanaka) was excellent. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun half day out.
Wildwire Wanaka is an absolute must do activity.

5.00We had the most amazing time doing Level 2 at Wildwire Wanaka. Our guide Sophia was excellent - very encouraging and always making sure we were safe and feeling confident. The climb was such fun and a little challenging, and it certainly took me out of my comfort zone. We all felt a sense of achievement at the end and sorry it was over. We can not recommend Wildwire Wanake and our wonderful guide Sophia enough. Do yourself a favour and try it as it's a fantastic way to spend half a day.

5.00BUCKET LIST EXPERIENCE - such an amazing time. Completed L2 in approximately 3.5 hours, filled with rock scaling, bridges, stream crossings, and bridges. This is a thrill seeker’s playground, and even though I don’t have any climbing experience, it was super intuitive and friendly (as long as you don’t have a fear of heights). Tour guide Jason was great at walking us through the safety, providing guidance in the navigation of the mountain, and taking amazing pictures! I want to do this everywhere I go - can’t say enough good things about this experience!
