Our intermediate climb involves approximately 3hrs of climbing steel ladder rungs and crossing 6 bridges next to a spectacular waterfall and finishes with approximatley 45 minutes walk down a mountainside trail. This tour is perfect for active adventurers who love the exploring outdoors, waterfalls and beautiful places. You will be climbing next to vertical waterfalls and being happy with heights helps! Stay dry. No experience required.
If you are hesitant or just want a smaller taste, we recommend our Level 1 / Beginner climb.

Minimum age on this tour is 12 years. If you are under 16, you must climb our via ferrata with an adult guardian. For children under 12 a private tour may be an option. Please request upon booking.
All minors (16 years and under) require an adult guardian’s signature on their waiver. There are no upper age limits to this activity.
Please advise if over 220 pounds (100kg) or under 88 pounds (40kg)

What To Expect
Join us on the highest waterfall cable climb in the World. We are right there by your side as you challenge yourself and your comfort zone. Our Level 2, Intermediate climb, is an epic climb that just keeps getting better. The route follows on from Level 1 with great views, and some steeper sections. You are guaranteed a climb you will remember. Our tours take place on a private working deer farm, nestled in the mountains, 20 minutes drive from Wanaka. The air is clean and the views just keep getting better and better the higher we go. It is an adventure of a lifetime. We proudly stand by our clean record – with guides, training, gear and policies that keep it that way.

5.00This is a MUST do in Wanaka! I'm a reasonably fit 65 yo and had no problem doing the Level 2. Would have done Level 3 but there was too much water flowing on the day. Xena was a brilliant instructor and I haven't had this much fun in years. Still smiling now. Do it!

5.00The Wildwire climb (level 3) is one of the toughest things we have achieved. Our guide Rocky is very experienced and provided encouragement and support to complete this climb on one of the hardest days due to the high water level! Would we do it again?? Hell yeah!!

5.00We had an incredible experience with Wildwire. Going through the twin falls on cliffs is an excitement hard to describe in words. You get to have a direct touch with the raw beauty of nature-all under a secure and friendly environment with the help of the amazing staffs of Wildwire. The staffs were the other highlights we'd like to mention. Zina was our amazing guides. She made sure everyone had a secure and enjoyable experience, took plenty of photos for all of us, and ended up airdropping us all the beautiful photos for free. Writing a good review is the least we can do to thank the amazing team.

5.00So much fun! And rocky our tour guide was the best! We had a couple of scared people in our group and he was so encouraging and really managed to get them to keep going and even try the hanging off the bridge! Super cool experience we will be back for sure. Would love to do level 3 :)

5.00By far the best one day adventure activity I’ve done. Our guide Rocky was a legend, views were stunning and it felt totally safe but still loads of fun. My only advice would be to do level 3 so you can get the full experience. Thanks guys ✌🏻

5.00My two daughters (24 and 17) and I had a great time with this activity. We drove from Queenstown and it was well worthy. One of the favorite activities we did in the Queenstown area. You don’t need special skills for this. Or to be in great exercise shape. I’m in my 50s, medium built and do not exercise much and had no problem doing it. The guides go at a good speed. Just make sure you don’t mind heights. We went at the end of May, the last day of the season. It was a group of 12 and they broke us in 3 groups of 4, each with a guide. After getting the equipment and instructions, you start by testing the new skills on a small rock. And off you go. We climbed with Laurel, who started the business with her husband. She continuously checked on all of us and gave us suggestions or where to set the claws. She encouraged us to hang from the bridge, etc. Very professional and friendly. We spent about 5 hours between the climb, a short rest, one longer one for lunch (about 20 minutes) and the descend. It was exhilarating to see how high up we were and to see the waterfall right next to you. Out of the 12 of us, 4 people continued to level 3. The lunch provided (sandwich and brownie) was really yummy and filling. Definitely worthy if you like to try something different

Our guide Georgia was absolutely amazing, she was super helpful, friendly, and made sure we felt safe and confident the entire time. Her instructions were really clear and easy to follow, which made the whole climb even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting Wanaka – it's an unforgettable adventure! 5.00This was the most fun and challenging experience I’ve ever done anywhere. Rocky our guide was kind and professional. Once he taught us how to use our clamps and shorty, we were off and climbing. The course itself was well thought out and got increasingly challenging as we ascended. The views were breathtaking but the bridges were my favorite. I’m not afraid of heights but at times I felt a bit queasy being 210 meters up and hanging by a cable! I never felt unsafe at any point. I enjoyed lunch with my small group that I met on the climb and then thoroughly enjoyed the hike down. The hours flew by and I felt like I had just experienced the most fantastic adventure in New Zealand. The drive back to Queenstown was gorgeous. DO NOT pass up this opportunity to climb these waterfalls!
