What To Expect
Archaeological Site of Olympia
Market of Ancient Olympia, Olympia, Greece Discover the birthplace of the Olympic Games by first visiting the archeological site. You will admire the stunning view of the most famous monuments such as the ancient stadium, that hosted 40.000 spectators sited,the temple of Zeus and Hera’s and many more.
Archaeological Museum of Olympia
where you will see the metopes from the temple of Zeus, the magnificent statue of Hermes of Praxiteles, the statue of Nike of Paionios and the helmet of Miltiades, a famous general from the Persian wars. You can also visit the Museum of the History of the games where you can learn more about how the Olympic games begun and the sports they were included.

Experiencing Beautiful Greece

5.00Our driver, Christos, met us at the dock. He drove us through the countryside towards Olympia, with wonderful information and interesting stories. He made the Greek culture come alive! We saw the museum and the archeological site (where I got lost trying to meet back with the group--Christos was able to drive to where I was, thankfully). Next we had a delicious authentic Greek lunch in the town of Ancient Olympia, with mastika ice cream (which I love) for dessert! Then we had a fascinating tour of an olive mill, plus a tasting of the oils. Lastly we drove up in the hills to a monastery, perched up high with an amazing view. The atmosphere was serene and reverent--it was a peaceful & unique place. Christos was helpful & kind, and moved at our pace (which was slower, since we were an older group). This tour is highly recommended!!!

5.00Andreas lived nearby and was knowledgeable about the area. He spoke English well and had a clean, comfortable vehicle. He even knew how to get into the Olympia ruins museum ahead of the many tour groups. Combined with the olive oil tasting and back to the ship in plenty of time, we had a fantastic day!
Andreas is the way to go in Katakolo!

5.00Great trip! Our driver Cristo was great. Picked us up in a nice comfortable Mercedes. Took us to the museum & ruins but also customized the trip based on our conversation. Cristo made us feel like friends/family everyone he introduced us to was so welcoming.

5.00Dimitra was absolutely amazing! She didn’t speak very good English, but made great use of a translator app and gave all of us really good information for everywhere we went. The tour was very scenic and a great way to get to see the sights all around Katakolon! Dimitra was also prepared for the possibility of rain and so she provided us with umbrellas and even had water ready for us as well. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Dimitra and her husband Andreas!

5.00Nancy was a lovely human being. She cared so much about doing what we wanted to do. We wanted to go off the advertised tour and she had no problem doing it. We went to places that were not overcrowded. The tour was very personalized and special. Rarely do you connect with your guide as want to give hugs all around. A very memorable tour for us, as was our guide. Thank you, Nancy.
