We Expected a bit more organization and structure on a food tour. We done a few experiences with food tours and all were very enjoyable and great samples of local cuisine. This tour unfortunately was not. The guide Mr Dan, was extremely knowledgeable about the city and history of Phnom Phen and provide a depth of insight however it appears like he lacks experience or was not really prepared for a food tour. We did stop by at three places two were the same noodle dishes and the bbq skewers was actually not bad. The description stated unlimited beet or wine by we didnot have any. We were offered a cocktail by the end of the tour but it became a bit awkward and so just called it and night and got some food on our own.

The half-day Phnom Penh food tour was a great experience, combining a good tour of the main sites of Phnom Penh with exposure to the many traditional Cambodian foods, including insects, frogs, and tarantulas. My tour guide, Kakada, was informative, funny, and welcoming. He provided additional cultural information for many of the dishes, and shared personal stories about his life in Cambodia. I highly recommend the half-day Phnom Penh food tour for more adventurous travellers who want to visit and eat beyond the normal tourist stir-fry and amok restaurants.

Our guide Thorn was terrific. Took us through the food markets, explained how food is prepared & used.. We ate at local food stalls with a variety of delicious meals throughout the city, travelling around by local tuk tuk. Even had insects to taste! Thorn was very friendly fun & obliging and even gave us a mini tour of the city at night before dropping us back to the hotel. A fun food tour. Highly recommended.
