What To Expect
Queenstown
Half day tours are available from Queenstown to Skippers Canyon. This tour is an enjoyable outdoor adventure combined with insightful guidance on maximising the use of your camera. You will learn life long skills on the fine art of landscape photography from an award-winning photographer, while discovering some unforgettable locations. I will collect you from your hotel long before sunset, and return you once the ideal time for natural light photography has disappeared.
Skippers Canyon is part of Mount Aurum Recreation Reserve and saw much of Wakatipu’s 1860s gold fever, and offers dramatic views. It's a stunning deep river gorge, set amongst the glacial-carved peaks of Queenstown's mountain.

5.00Glen was amazing, we went to Skippers Canyon stopping off for plenty of shots along the way. Great history of skippers. Gave helpful tips to ensure we got the most out of our camera. Felt at ease to ask questions. The tour was fun packed start to finish. The tour with Glen really was the highlight of my stay in NZ. The fee is reasonable it’s like a private workshop with one of the best photographers in NZ.

5.00Amazing afternoon exploring Skippers Canyon with Glen! Beautiful part of the world. Glen was really friendly and knowledgeable, more than willing to share his experiences and expertise. Even provided a cup of tea and a bikkie to help fight off the afternoon chill. Well worth taking a trip with Glen, you’ll have a fantastic experience and come away with some awesome photos!

5.00I’d met Glen before on a workshop that lasted a few days and been really impressed by the quality of his photography, but also by his warm, welcoming, and fun approach to being part of a workshop led by him. So, when the opportunity presented to spend a dawn to midday tour in Skipper’s Canyon, I was delighted. We spent a great 4 or 5 hours, taking golden hour photos over the Queenstown/Shotover and Remarkables area, I received great tuition and achieved some cool shots. Then a few hours in Skipper’s itself were great fun. And my wife, who is not that interested in photography, came along, and had a wonderful time too. I’d highly recommend a half day tour with Glen!

5.00I went on two trips with Glen, sunrise in Glenorchy, and a day including sunset in the Nevis Valley. Both trips were very productive and I came away with some excellent photos. Glen is very enthusiastic, attentive, and helpful. My photography skill set is keen amateur and Glen was very capable of helping with settings and composition at my level. Creativity was part of his toolbox which I have tried to illustrate in the attached photos. Locations were excellent. I found him very personable and we chatted constantly both sessions. I would recommend Glen for a photography assignment. A real pro.

5.00Glen is a highly accomplished professional photographer and we learned so much from him during our half day adventure. We had many stops at pristine locations to take pictures and appreciate the beauty of the lake Wakatipu area. Glen was very patient and skillfully managed our group of photographers of varying skill levels from iPhone to enthusiast amateur to an advanced level individual, providing each with valuable tips. He knows the region extremely well and his unique insights enhanced our experience. We had exceptional weather that provided a wealth of opportunities for creative photography that Glen took full advantage of. We highly recommend Glen for a fantastic learning and fun experience in the broader Queenstown area.
