Fairview Lawn Cemetery

As you leave Peggy's Cove and head back to Halifax (1:00 hr. approximate time), your next stop will be the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, where the remains of 121  Titanic victims are interred. The tragic loss of the RMS Titanic on April 15, 1912, was felt all over the world, including in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Due to Nova Scotia's close proximity to the Titanic's last known position, recovery ships from Halifax were dispatched to conduct the grizzly task of recovering those who perished. Halifax is home to the largest concentration of Titanic graves in the world. As you walk through the cemetery, you'll learn about the lives of those who were lost, the details surrounding the memorial, and the heartbreaking story of the unknown child of the Titanic.

Van was comfortable. Driver was very knowledgeable on Titanic and Peggy's Cove and all points in between.

It was very cold and rainy day but thanks to Reggie we had a good time. We saw and walked up to the lighthouse and shopped too. We looked at a few of the sights that Reggie described and the merchants were very friendly. We also went to Fairview Cemetery and saw where 121 victims of the Titanic were laid to rest. All in all, it was a good day, despite the weather!

Reg, our tour guide, was just the best! This was the perfect excursion, not too long and not too short. So informative, but not so much so that you don’t get to explore the sites on your own. We took out almost 9 year old and she had a wonderful time too :) Highly recommend! A definite must do! Thanks again Reg, a true blue-nose specialist lol

Overall a pleasant trip in a minibus. However, the number of persons (maximum 10) is not correct. We were 13 people on the bus. Ultimately, no big deal, but an indication of 10 to 15 people would be fair, as would the stated duration (4.5 hours) - we were back at the cruise terminal after a good 4 hours with a small tour of Halifax at the end. A quarter of an hour more at Peggy Cove would not have been too much, especially as we also had the best weather. The stations Peggy Cove and Titanic Cemetery, as well as the drive through Halifax were enriched by our guide Ron with a lot of interesting information. Therefore, the tour was and is quite recommendable. Picking up at the cruise port also worked out well.

It was a very interesting tour of three sites that were most enjoyable. Our tour guide, Nilah was able to share many facts and points of interest that we would not have known. The pace was ideal and the scenery was memorable. A very worthwhile experience.
