Peggy's Cove Lighthouse
As you leave Halifax, you'll enjoy a scenic 1:30-hour drive along the beautiful coastline of St. Margaret's Bay, from the village of Hubbards to the iconic Peggy's Cove. After arriving in Peggy's Cove, you'll have an hour to visit the world's most popular lighthouse, explore the local fishing village, and even sample some local seafood if you like! Witness the power of the ocean as waves crash against the rugged and rocky coastline. Peggy's Cove will treat you to incredibly beautiful landscapes and leave you with memories that will last a lifetime.
Fairview Lawn Cemetery
As you leave Peggy's Cove and head back to Halifax (1:00 hr. approximate time), your next stop will be the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, where the remains of 121 Titanic victims are interred. The tragic loss of the RMS Titanic on April 15, 1912, was felt all over the world, including in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Due to Nova Scotia's close proximity to the Titanic's last known position, recovery ships from Halifax were dispatched to conduct the grizzly task of recovering those who perished. Halifax is home to the largest concentration of Titanic graves in the world. As you walk through the cemetery, you'll learn about the lives of those who were lost, the details surrounding the memorial, and the heartbreaking story of the unknown child of the Titanic.

Ron with Anchor Tours was a fantastic tour guide for our small group Peggy’s Cove and Titanic Cemetery Tour. He was very knowledgeable and shared lots of historical information with us. He was also very accommodating and took one of our group members to a nearby park to see a memorial plaque of William Alexander, who founded Nova Scotia and is one of his ancestors!

Our Anchor Tour, hosted by Ron was outstanding. We had a small passenger van that was comfortable. Our tour was timed perfectly ( other tours had to rush due to unexpected traffic delays) yet Ron was flexible enough to allow an impromptu shopping stop. I cannot say enough good things about Ron. He was very pleasant, kind, courteous and an avid learner. His knowledge of the Halifax area put all of the others to shame. ( we overheard other tours leaders who did a poor job!)
