Peggy's Cove and the Fairview Lawn Cemetery are some of the most popular locations in Halifax. This half-day tour is perfect for those who are looking for interesting locations to visit but don't have the time for a full-day experience.
This is a small group shared tour that doesn't have the crowd and pressure found in a big bus experience.
Suitable for all physical fitness levels
Peggy's Cove Lighthouse
As you leave Halifax, you'll enjoy a scenic 1:30-hour drive along the beautiful coastline of St. Margaret's Bay, from the village of Hubbards to the iconic Peggy's Cove. After arriving in Peggy's Cove, you'll have an hour to visit the world's most popular lighthouse, explore the local fishing village, and even sample some local seafood if you like! Witness the power of the ocean as waves crash against the rugged and rocky coastline. Peggy's Cove will treat you to incredibly beautiful landscapes and leave you with memories that will last a lifetime.
Fairview Lawn Cemetery
As you leave Peggy's Cove and head back to Halifax (1:00 hr. approximate time), your next stop will be the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, where the remains of 121 Titanic victims are interred. The tragic loss of the RMS Titanic on April 15, 1912, was felt all over the world, including in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Due to Nova Scotia's close proximity to the Titanic's last known position, recovery ships from Halifax were dispatched to conduct the grizzly task of recovering those who perished. Halifax is home to the largest concentration of Titanic graves in the world. As you walk through the cemetery, you'll learn about the lives of those who were lost, the details surrounding the memorial, and the heartbreaking story of the unknown child of the Titanic.

The best tour I have ever been on. Jeff, our guide, was so wonderful. He had so much information to share with us and made our tour fun. The small group size was perfect.

It's worth bringing an umbrella if there's even the slightest chance of rain as there's minimal cover from showers and you'll definitely want to be out of the van in order to see the sights

Great communication and info on this excursion. I felt that the four hours allocated were perfect. I loved that the tour operator picked us up right from the port. The tour guide had perfect cadence to his shpill and spoke very clearly. The mic in the van helped a lot. He explained the sites we visited wonderfully. He made the Titanic Cemetery visit very interesting. Highly recommend this excursion.

We enjoyed the most incredible half-day excursion with Jeff, the most informed tour guide I ever met! He took us to Peggy’s Cove and shared his knowledge about the area along the way. Then into “The Titantic” Cemetery where he regaled us with so many stories about the victims and their circumstances. He picked us up in a lovely 8-passenger van. We were very comfortable. When we returned to the cruise ship we were the envy of our new friends who asked us how we arranged a private tour while they had to make due with the exact same tour (we saw them in Peggy’s Cove and the cemetery) on a very large motor coach for nearly twice the price! We told them to write down the name “Viator” and book them next time.

Tour guide knew his “stuff”! I learned a ton in an interesting way. An hour at Peggy’s Cove was plenty of time.
