Fairview Lawn Cemetery

As you leave Peggy's Cove and head back to Halifax (1:00 hr. approximate time), your next stop will be the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, where the remains of 121  Titanic victims are interred. The tragic loss of the RMS Titanic on April 15, 1912, was felt all over the world, including in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Due to Nova Scotia's close proximity to the Titanic's last known position, recovery ships from Halifax were dispatched to conduct the grizzly task of recovering those who perished. Halifax is home to the largest concentration of Titanic graves in the world. As you walk through the cemetery, you'll learn about the lives of those who were lost, the details surrounding the memorial, and the heartbreaking story of the unknown child of the Titanic.

Our driver was very nice and informative along the travel. She dropped some of us off at the City Park. It was a beautiful addition to this excursion.

Good half day tour - Justine, our guide, was informative and personable. We had a full hour in Peggy's Cove to wander about and we had plenty of time at the Fairview Cemetery to see the Titanic graves. This small group tour was much better than having to get on one of those huge motor coach buses.

  • Good tour, but try not to sit in the back

This is a nice tour to Peggy's Cove, and this is a place we really enjoyed. The driver was pleasant and gave commentary and a good recommendation for a place to get lobster rolls; he knows a lot about the Titanic. We ended up in the back seats of the van, and it was cramped and warmer, with part of the floor being a hump for the wheel. I know someone has to sit in the back, but it wasn't very comfortable. There's not effort to move people around for different sites so others can take a turn in the back, so you're kind of stuck.
