We did the golf cart tour and it was such a fun and easy way to see a lot of Rome in just a few hours. Riding around the city in the cart made it really comfortable, and our guide shared great stories and history at every stop. It felt relaxed, well organized, and honestly one of the best tours we did during our time in Rome.

Golf cart tours are great introduction to Rome. You get driven around in an open sided electric vehicle, and the driver tells you about what you are seeing. You do not get to actually go into anything, but there are stops for photos and explanations. Much of Rome has cobble stone roads, so the ride is very bumpy. There are many companies offering golf cart tours, with all sorts of variations. Private (just you and your group in one cart) or sharing with others. Some will pick up from hotel (central Rome) or there may be a fixed pick-up point. Prices vary considerably. After lots of research we went for Gallo. Not the cheapest, but certainly not the most expensive. We did a private tour for two people, 3 hours. This was not that much more expensive than sharing with strangers. "Private" generally means that you pay for the cart not per person, so more people means better value. But there is a maximum number of people. Nicola (Nic) turned up at our hotel on time, and was great from the outset. He started by asking if this was a first visit to Rome and if there were things in particular that we did or did not want to see. Three hours just flew by and Nic was a mountain of information. We'd been to Rome before and had done a lot of reading, but he still came up with so much that we didn't already know. The booking process was straightforward. We chose to pre-pay. We also gave Nic a decent cash tip, but there was no pressure to do this. I can't compare Gallo with other companies as we haven't done any others, but our experience was excellent and it's hard to see how it could be improved. Absolutely recommended. It's a fairly expensive thing to do, but worth every penny ! If you're in Rome for while, do this first as an introduction.

So lucky to have had Massimo as our guide, and very proficient driver, we were all blown away by how he looked after us all and showed us not only some of the major sites, but also some smaller and even secret moments! So much more personal and fulfilling than a bus tour, and great that the 6 of us were able to stay together.

We only had two days in Rome, and booking a golf cart tour with Gallo Tour was the absolute best decision we made. It was the perfect way to see the city’s main highlights while making the most of our limited time. We were lucky enough to have Mario as our guide, and he truly made the experience unforgettable. He was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating history and stories at every stop, and at the same time he was warm, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying every moment. If we’re ever back in Rome, we wouldn’t hesitate to book another tour and we would definitely ask for Mario again!
