Step by step, you’ll go with your guide through the most important places and events of WWII in Prague. Cruising through the city you’ll see the former Gestapo headquarters as well as the church where Czech paratroopers who assassinated Reinhard Heydrich fought their last battle.. At the Old Town Square you’ll hear breathtaking stories of Czechs who were defending Prague against German troops during the fights of Prague Uprising and see authentic photographs taken during and right after the fights. Throughout the war, Prague was bombed couple of times and your guide will show you its impact on the daily life of locals.
At last your guide will explain you a political background of the end of WWII, which determined the course of Czechoslovakia for the next 40 years.

What To Expect
Start your half-day WWII Prague walking tour at 1:30 pm, when you meet up with a knowledgable local guide in front of a local bridge in Prague. Dive into the captivating history of the 1930s and World War II and hear how Hitler convinced Czechoslovak allies to betray them in Munich. With the guide’s interesting and insightful information at hand, travel step-by-step through the most important events of World War II in Prague. Relive the assassination of ‘The Butcher of Prague’, Reinhard Heydrich, by Czech Resistance and visit the place where Czechs were hidden and where they fought their last battle, now used as a museum. Continue wandering through the historic city and see the former Gestapo and SS headquarters, as well as the square Germans used to parade their troops. Visit the Old Town Square and hear stories of Czechs who defended Prague against German troops during the Prague uprising. Don’t miss the authentic photographs taking during and immediately after the uprising. After learning how the bombing of Prague and World War II in general affects local Czechoslovakians to this day, end the tour at the striking Čechúv bridge. Located on the banks of the river, it’s a picturesque ending to an informative tour.

5.00Great way to get an understanding of how WW II impacted Prague. We visited the locations where events took place and our guide was prepared with pictures and the history. Our guide, Matt, was incredible. He went out of his way to cover for the initial day and time we had scheduled as the initial guide got sick. He was fantastic.

5.00Exceptionally good tour and guide. Jack is a font of knowledge, answers every question in as much detail as you want. Walked a lot but had a nice mid-tour break, with continued info. The pace is fast, and route is very extensive so I don’t recommend it for those with difficulty walking, especially over the cobblestone streets. Loved the tour.

3.00There is not a lot of WW II history to see in Prague. Most of the tour was focused on the assassination of Eichman. The tour was good but it only needed to be 2 hrs at the most.

5.00From the moment we met our guide Jack (Jan) Honza , we were at ease and amazed at his knowledge and enthusiasm for our tour, we felt as though we were immersed in not only the events of WW11 but also the reasons why they occurred. The hero’s and the villains. He answered questions with ease and made us feel as though he were a friend rather than a guide. Highly recommend.

5.00We lacked a thorough knowledge of Prague’s WWII involvement. Martin gave us a great city overview, made it possible for us to see the film even though the museum wasn’t planning to show it….the church basement bunker memorial was quite moving. We were glad we took the time for this tour. Also coffee in the little cafe was a nice break! Also Martin went the extra mile to help us find a bookstore to look for additional information.
Tour that you won't forget and will learn alot! Highly recommend!

5.00Jack was amazing! He told us so much information and interesting tidbits. We are still talking about what we learned. He kept us on edge with the saga of the Anthropoid and all of the interesting parts of WW2 and the Czech resistance. We stopped at several areas that you would otherwise miss that had such significance. Jack also gave us insights into the Czech's culture today. This was one of the best tours we have ever been on (and we've been on dozens!).
