The weather was perfect. Water temp was a tiny bit cold but well worth it. I saw so many fish. Scenery was amazingly beautiful. Staff were so nice and very knowledgeable

Hanauma Bay is a must visit for snorkelers and beach goers. It’s beautiful in the morning with tons of sea life. While you can visit without a tour, I hear that reservation is needed. Gear rentals are available onsite but pricey. Bring your own gear if possible. Plenty of parking on site.

I did this activity twice within a week! It's a long review, but it's worth the read. Firstly, if you are expecting a hands-on snorkeling lesson, this probably isn't the right activity for you. The service drops you off at the bay, and then you are on your own. Thankfully, though, snorkeling is pretty easy and doesn't take much know-how. Look up a quick YouTube video before going out if you're not sure. Trying to go to Hanauma Bay on your own accord is possible, however, this service is DEFINITELY worth it. Not having to worry about parking and getting your hands on a reservation (sometimes impossible) is worth the cost alone... but you also get gear and a ride to/from your hotel! What to expect: Once everyone has been picked up from their hotels, the guide will drive you over to Hanauma Bay, giving a quick rundown of the area, other landmarks, the history, etc. on the way. Once in the area, they will take you to a scenic overlook to see the sun rise and give you an opportunity to try your fins on for size and finalize any additional rentals you wish to make. MAKE SURE TO BRING THE $25 ENTRENCE FEE WITH YOU IN CASH. Once you're done, the van will get in line for enterence: you are pretty much the first people in the park! My experience: My first trip out was on a Sunday morning. The bay is closed Mondays and Tuesdays so the wildlife can rest, so this was at the end of the week, so to speak, so the more "sensitive" fish had called it quits. It was super cloudy, which meant significantly less visibility in the water. While I still enjoyed myself, I left that day feeling disappointed - like I didn't get the full experience because of the weather. (Nothing the company can control, obviously.) Since snorkeling was the whole reason I was in Oahu, I decided to extend my stay so I could try one more time... and I am SOOOOO thankful I did. My second trip was on sunny Weds. morning - we were among the first people to set foot in the bay after the two days of "rest." I got in the water first thing... there were so many different species I didn't see last time, and I could actually see how bright they were! The sun made all the difference in the world, and being there after the bay rested meant the fish were more populous. The further you go out from the shore, the clearer the water is - especially if there are a lot of people in towards the shore kicking up sand and whatnot. One thing I wanted to mention specifically was how thankful I am that this service offered full face mask rental. I know they are controversial for a lot of (valid) reasons, but due to a medical condition, I am unable to use the standard setup. Having the option to rent one of these masks is what made the entire endeavor doable for me. Sidenote: If you go with a full facemask, just make sure to clear it every so often so carbon monoxide doesn't build up. (The masks already filter the carbon monoxide out, but it's good to clear it every once in a while regardless.) If you are prone to panic, don't go with a full face mask. (If the mask takes on water, you have to remain calm, hold your breath, and pull the mask away from your face/unclip it.)

The overall experience was good. The time of getting there not perfect. It's a bit cold and wavy early in the morning, so better to get there around 11 am at this time of the year (Oct) maybe. Otherwise, all good.

Snorkel equipment was faulty and prevented us from experiencing the full tour. Place was amazing though and driver Micah was terrific at his 3rd day on the job!

Absolutely no service was provided for the money we paid. The main webpage showed a 6:00 am pickup, yet they instructed us to be at another hotel by 5:40 am, even though we were travelling with kids early in the morning. The bus left just two minutes later (5:42 am) despite their own stated 15‑minute grace period, and the operator on the helpline was rude and unhelpful, saying it was “our problem” and we should take an Uber instead. We paid for an Uber and arrived at Hanauma Beach, but no one answered multiple calls. Later, they sent a text saying the bus had left and our snorkelling equipment was on it. They made no effort to deliver the equipment, only sending an address outside the park, not accessible by walking — forcing us to pay for another Uber to collect it. In the end, there was no pickup, no drop‑off, no equipment, and we were still charged over USD 160. I have documentation for all of this, some uploaded here. Viator customer service was equally unhelpful and didn’t resolve anything. Save yourself the trouble – go directly or choose another operator. This company is completely unprofessional.

We left early to watch the sun rise and coordinate gear before arriving inside the park. The driver was very friendly and informative, he made sure that we had everything we needed to have a great time on the beach.

It was a great experience snorkeling at Hanuma Bay. We got early morning slot 6am and we were the first in line to enter the bay. Our driver was super helpful and provided lots of details about Hanuma bay and surrounding area. They also provided us with necessary equipment for the snorkeling as part of our package. We also able to rent umbrellas and chairs from the vehicle which made the overall experience smooth. I recommend to select the early morning slot, because bay is not crowded, and sun is not sharp.

My experience was a bit odd our driver asked for someone in the group to collect the entry fee and take charge of the group and to check in as a group .we ended up doing this service .. collecting money from strangers and being responsible for group check in for people we did not know .we also had to make change for people paying us and was responsible for collecting it .the driver or a company representative should do this function . Driver made us feel like we had to be responsible for getting people back to the check out at end and keep recipt.

It was such a beautiful experience. A lot of colorful fish, the waters are shallow. Good for beginners, more advance people can swim a little further. We witnessed a monk sea lion who came to rest at the beach! It was great overall. Easy pick up. Everything was nicely organized.
