Very friendly guide/photographer, easy time managing hanbok rentals and posing for photos as well. Get ready for some history lessons as well.

We had an excellent time doing the Gyeongbokgung photoshoot/tour with James and Jacob! They were friendly, personable, and took excellent photos :) thank you for sharing so much about the history of the buildings we were looking at and in such a funny and lively manner! They also told us how to pose and the preview of the photos looked great. There were also short breaks in between photos/history sharing so that we could explore our surroundings. Would definitely recommend!

James and Jacob were both very friendly, fun, knowledgeable and excellent tour guides. They understood we are not from Korea, gave us detailed information and made us laugh a lot of the time. I highly recommend!

This is the best experience I had out of all the tours I did in South Korea! I had such a great time learning about the history of the palace and James and our photographer (Hanbok Diary) are the best guides ever! If I were to come back Seoul, I’ll definitely book this experience again!

I think the idea is really great. I loved the hanbok and the guide and photographer were very nice. I just prefer quality over quantity. I think the group was quite large. And there were a lot of pictures taken, but not a lot of pose direction. I am not good at knowing what poses so I had booked this in hopes of it helping get some good photos. I also wish we saw more of the palace. I think a group of 6 max would make the tour so much more enjoyable. And they could spend more time taking photos with less people. When I booked I thought it was a private tour so I was a bit disappointed. But they were both very kind and knowledgeable.

Met up with the historian (James) at 8:30am and went into shop to rent hanbok. The price is dependent on type of hanbok, jacket, and type of hair styling. You can wear your regular clothes under the hanbok so it wasn’t hard to get ready. We then walked over to get the bus to changdeokgung palace (since gyeongbokgung palace is closed on Tuesdays). As we get there pretty early in the morning, the palace is not as busy (but it may have been due it being December and it was cold). We stopped at a spot and James would tell us some historical information. We would then go to another spot and get our pictures taken. The photographer taught us a couple of poses that we would use. We would then repeat historical information and get pictures taken. We also were given some time to explore a couple of spots ourselves. I think we had our pictures taken at 3-4 spots. We finished around 11:45. After the tour finished, i paid to get into the secret garden. I found it to be an enjoyable experience especially if you are traveling alone and really want to get pictures taken in hanbok. There wasn’t a rush and we took our time on the tour.
