What To Expect
Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
Part 1: Hanoi Highlights: (2 hours) You will be greeted by the tour guide and driver at your hotel lobby we then ride to Ho Chi Minh Complex to have a quick visit to Ho chi Minh mausoleum – the Mecca of Vietnamese, Ba Dinh square, Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh Residential area and One Pillar Pagoda. 1. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Closed every Monday and Friday, and annually from mid-June to mid-August. Open to visitors five days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays) from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM only. 2. Can we see Hanoi Train Street? Watching the train pass through the famous Train Street is included in all afternoon tours, as well as Monday and Friday morning tours (when the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed). Train Street also serves as an alternative activity if the Mausoleum is closed, or if you prefer NOT to wait in the long queue to enter.
Temple of Literature & National University
After Ho Chi Minh Complex, we move to Temple Of Literature, a 1000 year-old iconic architecture of Hanoi to learn about Vietnamese long-standing culture and history.

5.00A relatively expensive tour but a great way and a fun way to see Hanoi. Our guide, Louis was extremely informative, humourous and personable, and our driver Johnny made us feel safe in chaotic traffic. We went on a Friday so the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum was closed but they took us to Train Street instead and made sure we were there in time for a passing train, while we sipped on drinks of our choice from the local cafe. Drinks and entrance fees are included on this tour so this may have made up for the perception of being relatively expensive (PLUS it is a very authentic experience) They take you to a lovely coffee shop to try the local Vietnamese specialty coffees (eg egg coffee) - still included in the cost, so this was a great introduction to the specialty coffees.

5.00Back Street Vietnam Tours is the BEST! We loved every minute of the morning tour because it combined everything we are interested in - history (including the American War), local neighborhoods we would never "usually" see (cooperative farms outside the city), meeting and speaking with a very honored person (86 year old highly decorated war veteran, Mr. Chien), and of course, the FABULOUS food (egg yolk coffee at Café Giảng, operating since 1946; Phở Cuốn 31, so delicious). Our tour guide, Hay, was terrific, and we so appreciated his expertise, experiences, stories, and hilarious sense of humor. Thank you!

5.00We had an amazing jeep tour with Jim. He is a very friendly and knowledgeable guide & speaks excellent English. We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children & Jim tailored the tour for the kids - they enjoyed the B52 museum and learned a lot about the history of Vietnam. 5 Stars and highly recommend.
