Embark on an exciting journey into the outskirts of Hanoi with our Hanoi Countryside Jeep Tour, beginning directly from your hotel in or around the Hanoi Old Quarter. Escape the busy main streets and allow us to take you on a scenic route through the city’s urban outskirts and peaceful countryside, across a bridge to the Red River’s other side, offering stunning farmland panoramas and a tranquil ambiance. Gain insights into locals’ daily activities, explore traditional villages, and comprehend the impact of industrialization and urbanization throughout the tour. Option 1: Co Loa Ancient Citadel village Venturing into the hidden back alleys of Hanoi’s outskirts, we immerse ourselves in the authentic side of the city that tourists rarely get to see. This is a chance to experience the real Hanoi, away from the beaten path and typical tourist attractions. We get a glimpse into the everyday lives of local people, witnessing the rural villages, farmers toiling in the fields, and the presence of livestock. The stark contrast to city life is truly eye-opening. Our main destination for the day is the Co Loa ancient citadel. This historic site dates back to 280 BC and offers a captivating insight into Vietnamese culture, history, and mythology through its well-preserved architecture. In addition, we delve deep into the traditional way of life in rural Hanoi, with activities such as wet rice farming, exploring local markets, and witnessing the production of handicrafts. Co Loa village is like a living museum, encapsulating the essence of Vietnamese culture and daily life. We conclude our incredible day with a home-hosted meal, lovingly prepared by a local family. Here, we indulge in authentic Vietnamese cuisine, forging a meaningful connection with the local culture. Option 2: Bat Trang Ceramic Village: Our destination is the famous Bat Trang ceramic village, which is the largest village of its kind in Vietnam and has a long history that dates back thousands of years. Get ready to be amazed by the immersion in ancient art and heritage, navigating the tiny ancient alleyways, and delving into the Vietnamese culture’s deep-rooted history. Learn about the current daily life of the village’s handicrafts industry by taking part in a ceramic class with the local craft-man. At the end or the beginning of the tour, depending on the morning or afternoon schedule, you’ll enjoy an authentic, organic, and healthy Hanoi food with drinks. Join us on a journey to experience Hanoi’s countryside’s real-life by taking our Hanoi Countryside Jeep Tour and immerse yourself in the local daily life.

An informative cultural experience by John. We loved his passion for his country and history which he shared with us throughout the experience. John is what makes the experience so much fun. This visit to a community garden isn’t really a farm experience considering we live in New Zealand but we loved the visit to the Temple (remember to cover your shoulders). The cafe was extra special and we would just do the trip to visit this place again.

Today we had Louis as our guide. He was fantastic; nothing was too difficult for him. The Jeep ride was great. The food was delicious. The railway street was a highlight, along with the views of the rice fields and the small village on the outskirts.

Had an exceptional experience with San May on the “A Glimpse Off the Beaten Path” Sapa Jeep Tour. She was engaging, caring, knowledgeable, and made every moment feel authentic and special. From breathtaking mountain views and hidden village relics to local farms and cultural immersion, the journey was unforgettable. Ending the day with a traditional herbal bath deep in the mountains was the perfect touch. If you truly want to experience the heart and soul of Sapa beyond the tourist trail, I highly recommend this tour and guide.

It was great to get outside of the city center and see a different side of Hanoi. Bee was a great guide - she is very nice and shared a lot of stories and interesting things about Vietnamese culture. It felt like talking with a friend. Driving in the jeep is an exciting experience too, but not for the faint hearted.
