DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON GOLDEN TOURS! On Wednesday, 5 November 2025, I took the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter with Return Transport from London Victoria Bus Stop 1. It was a frustrating disappointment that all should avoid. I will elaborate in sections all that is wrong with Golden Tours and tell you at the end what I would do differently knowing what I now know. BOOKING TICKETS ONLINE - The Golden Tours booking page has three (3) options for ticketing: 1) Pickup and Return to Victoria Bus Stop 1 2) Pickup and Return to Baker Street 3) Pickup and OPEN RETURN to either Victoria or Baker Street I wanted an Open Return so I wouldn’t be rushed at the studios. Unfortunately, the Open Return button was disabled on the webpage so I was forced to choose the 9:15 AM Departure with a fixed 3:15 PM Return. I contacted Golden Tours to ask if I could take a later bus and they said I could arrange my own transport back to London if I didn’t want to take the 3:15 PM bus. THE BUS TRIP TO WARNER BROS STUDIOS The Harry Potter wrapped bus that awaited me at Victoria Bus Stop 1 was newer and had seatbelts which passengers were instructed to wear. The seats were upholstered in cloth and had seatback video screens with games and Harry Potter stuff. Once aboard the bus I received my Warner Bros Studio ticket in an envelope with my name on it, earbuds for the seatback video, and a green wristband with the 3:15 PM return bus time printed on it. The drive from London to the Studios was aggravatingly slooooooow. The driver took streets with traffic lights pretty much the entire way over which is something like 22 miles. Looking through the pinhole Harry Potter wrap on the windows for 22 miles was beyond annoying. It is not a sightseeing bus by any stretch of the imagination. The bus arrived at the studios around 11:15 AM which theoretically left 4 hours to see everything and return to the bus. News Flash - It doesn’t work that way! AT THE STUDIOS Entering Warner Bros Studios takes time: - First you’ll walk from the bus circle to the entrance. - Then you’ll enter a long queue to have your ticket scanned to enter the front doors. - Next you’ll enter another long queue to get through security with a bag check and a walk through a metal detector. - Next you’ll need to queue to get your audio guide and Harry Potter Passport book (to get stamps along the tour route) All of the above will take a minimum of 15-20 minutes. - Next you’ll walk under the dragon in the entry hall and get in another long line which to enter the tour itself. Another 15 minutes in this line to even see the first display. THE SELF GUIDED TOUR If you want to read everything and see everything and hear everything the tour has to offer, plus take time for coffee or lunch it will take at least 4 ½ hours. To be clear, that is 4 ½ hours inside the studios. The studios are fascinating and photo opportunities abound. It is absolutely worth the price of admission. The only thing you will find difficult is pushing down on the embossing lever to put stamps in your studio passport. Warner Bros should improve this embossing mechanism. Anyways, I tried to pace myself in the studios but kept looking at my watch knowing the bus would leave at 3:15 PM. By 2:30 PM I was only 2/3 of the way through the tour route and started to give the next 1/3 eyewash. At 3:05 PM I walked straight through the gift shop because there was no time to do anything except make the long walk to the bus stop. THE RETURN BUS RIDE WAS B-A-D, BAD! The Golden Tours Bus to return to London was one of the scariest rides I have ever taken. It was like a race to get back to London as quickly as possible using the express motorway instead of the streets which were used on the way over. The bus appeared to be a retired city bus with no seatbelts. The seatbelts would have been useful because the bus had zero suspension or handling. Every bump resulted in the bus making wild sways either into the shoulder or the next lane. In addition, everyone on the bus had to hold onto something so they wouldn’t slide off the slippery vinyl seats with no seatbelts. The driver (who refused to give me his name) did a remarkable job of aiming the bus down the freeway and keeping it from crashing when applying the brakes which also made the bus veer. I say in all honesty, it was a miracle that we didn’t crash on the way back. WHAT I WOULD DO KNOWING WHAT I KNOW NOW 1) Purchase my Harry Potter Studio tickets directly from the Warner Bros website. 2) Take a direct train from London Euston to Watford Junction – a 20 minute ride versus nearly two hours on the streets in a bus. 3) Take the free shuttle bus from Watford Junction to the studios – journey time 15 minutes. 4) See the studios at my leisure and have time for lunch and a gift shop stop – 4½ hours. 5) Take the free shuttle from the studios back to Watford Junction and the train back to Euston. THE BOTTOM LINE Golden Tours is just an overpriced transport company that charges a lot of money, wastes everyone’s time, and risks the lives of its customers on bad buses. It’s far less expensive and infinitely less frustrating to take the train and shuttle bus as I’ve noted above. You will have a far better experience at Warner Bros if you take my advice, plus you won’t be risking your life on Golden Tours crappy unsafe buses.

Wonderful tour. We planned a last minute trip to London and this was a great way to get tickets to HP Studios, along with a convenient bus tour from London for our young family. HP Studios was a highlight of our trip. The sets, props, staff, and experience were top-notch and memorable.

Immersive experience for anyone who is a Harry Potter fan. To explore and see the original set, props and costumes made the experience even more enjoyable. Live actors in short interactions was a bonus.

The Experience at the studio was awesome, besides the bus trip there. The bus was late with about 20 Minutes, but they did make up that time. The actual studio tour was amazing, I feel 3 hours is not enough as we had to rush through the last 3 stages. The trip back was a bit uncomfortable, due to the bus being so hot we started sweating. But all aside a MUST DO when in the UK

We went on the special event NOX which was our first time, we have been loads of times on the normal tour. We had a fantastic time, got a bag with bits in in arrival which came in handy for our gifts at different locations, had a cocktail on arrival in the great hall and the death eaters popped out everywhere the actors who play them are brilliant they were scary and at times funny. It was nice getting a free photo with them and the three free pictures on the broomstick which we didn't expect.it was nice as wasn't crowded and was nice and relaxed as I have hidden disabilities. The cafe near the end has been extended and done up since we last went and it looks fantastic. Would definitely recommend going worth the money. Having the lights turned off in the forbidden forest was good and the lights turned down in diagon alley made it completely different to normal.

Nice trip down memory lane if you are a harry potter movies fan. Good stuff. Lots of interaction with props and how the movies bright certain characters to life. There is a café for lunch. The whole tour is about 4 hours.

Harry Potter was fascinating. Our bus driver Gocan, was very helpful and kind to people needing help getting on and off the bus. We appreciate his kindness.
