What To Expect
Spend up to 3 hours hiking on the Fox Glacier, The fly-in, fly-out heli hike combines the excitement of walking on the Te Moeka o Tuawe/Fox Glacier with the thrill of helicopter flights. By flying in you can access and explore a part of the glacier where its forces work hardest and often create spectacular ice caves and arches. You will be outfitted with boots and crampons specially designed for these ice conditions. You follow the ice steps cut by your guide as you explore the amazing formations. Please note that this is a natural and ever-changing environment. Ice features change constantly and no guarantee can be given that specific features will be seen. This is a weather dependent trip. 5.00Amazing! We spent much more time on the glacier than we thought we would and our guide was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about our adventure. We would HIGHLY recommend this experience for anyone looking for adventure and something completely different than the usual tourist attraction.

5.00The weather forecast is good two days before the event, so it is convenient to make an online booking and confirmation. The journey is led by an experienced leader, picked up by bus to the airport and then reached the glacier. The first time you’ve traveled to New Zealand with a helicopter and a glacier is a lifetime experience. The company offers a waterproof outer layer, pants, wool socks, leather boots and ice nails to make walking on the glacier easy.
Great time, go for it.

5.00Proposed to my now wife up on the glacier. Ladies and 'stretch' at reception were very very helpful, as was every staff member to keep both the proposal secret but still keeping me in the loop of info regarding the proposal. Special shoutout to Campbell and Kyle for organising where, when, how to go about the proposal. All round, despite the proposal, it was a really enjoyable time and would highly recommend it. Yes some activities are expensive, but these guys showed you the value you get with those activities. Good work guys!

5.00We had such a great experience with Sam at Fox Glacier Guiding. From the start he made us feel really comfortable and kept us informed throughout the whole trip. The staff made sure we had all the equipment and clothing we needed and took the time to check everyone was doing okay. Sam was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does, which made the experience even more special. We really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it!

5.00A fantastic way to experience the glacier. Extremely well organized. The flight takes about 4 minutes each way. We spent about 3 hours on the glacier on a sunny day. The hike was easy – about 1.3 km uphill, downhill, left and right. Beautiful and picturesque. Highly recommended.
