Explore some of Charleston's enchanting alleyways and historic sites on this small group, 2-hour walking tour. With our small group tours, you are guaranteed a more intimate and up-close experience. Charleston's alleyways are fortunately located within the popular historic district which allows us to include some well known points of interest and go a little "off the beaten path” while exploring the history and beauty of Charleston's enchanting alleyways. Generally, we include between four to six different alleyways/passages as well as popular points of interest like Rainbow Row and of course, tons of history! These pedestrian passageways are often overlooked, but walking along these cobbled paths is an opportunity to appreciate Charleston's rich history and hidden, more intimate charms.

5 out of 5 stars says it all!! Captain Bob not only showed us the best out of the way places but also he has a vast knowledge of the local history!

We were soo looking forward to taking the tour but my wife got sick. I had to cancel inside the window. They were so understanding and sympathetic. We will definitely make it next time!!

What a gift to see historic Charleston through the eyes of Evans Byrd, a masterful tour guide. He is a great storyteller and is passionate about the history of this town. Those things, plus sprinkles of plant knowledge and neighborhood goings on made this tour a truly rich (and sometimes touching) experience

Evans was an amazing historian and horticulturist! Our 2 hour tour was so informative and a great way to learn the history of Charleston… as well as see historic downtown! Worth every dollar!

Evans Byrd has to be the best tour guide I’ve ever had (including Myself—x-NPS interpreter). Knowledgeable, passionate, great story teller. He had us eating out of the palm of his hand with the stories. The walk and alleyways were beautiful. The history thought provoking. The pace perfect. Great recommendation for a post-walk drink at “R” Thanks for a great Charleston visit!

We had a 2 hour tour filled with history and details of architecture - so interesting. Plenty of time for pictures, good pace. Our very knowledgeable guide, Dennis Mardis, was able to answer all our questions. It was a beautiful sunny day. Charleston at its best!

Al Mixson was our tour guide and he was fantastic! Not only was he extremely knowledgeable regarding the area and the architecture, but he obviously has a love for what he does.

This is a great tour. Al, our guide, was well informed about the history of Charleston. Answered all questions . Went to places we would never have thought of and told back stories of the city.
