Explore some of Charleston's enchanting alleyways and historic sites on this small group, 2-hour walking tour. With our small group tours, you are guaranteed a more intimate and up-close experience. Charleston's alleyways are fortunately located within the popular historic district which allows us to include some well known points of interest and go a little "off the beaten path” while exploring the history and beauty of Charleston's enchanting alleyways. Generally, we include between four to six different alleyways/passages as well as popular points of interest like Rainbow Row and of course, tons of history! These pedestrian passageways are often overlooked, but walking along these cobbled paths is an opportunity to appreciate Charleston's rich history and hidden, more intimate charms.

Admission to the Powder Magazine Museum is included with the price of your walking tour. Visit at your leisure before or after the tour.

Captain Jim, almost, made the cold and rain enjoyable . . . almost. My partner and I had taken the Historic Tour a couple of days earlier. The two tours taken together give a wonderful overview of the city.

This fascinating history tour is full of delights, a must-do activity in Charleston! Our guide, Duggar, was a very personable and engaging speaker with an impressive command of local history across the centuries. Through many interesting details, Duggar shared with us the special character of the architecture layered throughout the city. The opportunity to discover the charming back alleys, pocket gardens, and nooks & crannies of the historic district was a unique experience. We saw enchanting corners of the city we never would have found on our own. Duggar pointed out surprising and beautiful details such as decorative iron gates, wall treatments, lanterns and cobblestones within a historical context, providing an immersive and highly enjoyable experience. His in-depth knowledge was vast and his enthusiasm and genuine love for the city was a joy. This tour is very engaging for adults and older kids. Our college-age son loved it. Highly recommend!
