After breakfast, we begin our scenic journey northward to the historic town of Jajce, a hidden gem nestled between rivers and rolling hills. This charming town holds a unique place in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was once the capital of the Bosnian Kingdom and has preserved its rich heritage over the centuries. Upon arrival, we will explore the breathtaking Jajce Waterfalls, where the Pliva River cascades dramatically into the Vrbas River. Then, we will visit the medieval Jajce Fortress, perched high above the town, offering panoramic views and a glimpse into the region’s rich history. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the charming old town, discovering traditional architecture and local culture. .

Una National Park
Today is dedicated to nature and adventure. After breakfast, we’ll head toward Una National Park, one of the most beautiful and least-known national parks in Europe. Home to pristine rivers, lush forests, and spectacular waterfalls such as Štrbački Buk, the park offers a peaceful escape into unspoiled nature. We’ll explore the park’s trails, viewpoints, and perhaps stop for a riverside picnic or coffee by the water. After a day immersed in nature, we return to Jajce for the evening. Overnight near Jajce.

Our tour continues to the city of Mostar. We will, of course, visit the iconic Old Bridge also known as Stari Most, part of UNESCO world heritage and built in a typical Islamic architectural style in the 16th century. We will also wander through the Old Bazaar with its colourful streets and lively atmosphere. The city has stones with “Don’t Forget” all around the town, commemorating the city’s history. Mostar combines the old with the new, which you will notice while wandering through the streets. There are several beautiful old mosques, bustling Turkish bazaars, and a maze of cobbled alleyways. In the afternoon you will have some free time to explore and wander around Mostar, this splendid UNESCO site. Overnight in Mostar.

Blagaj
After breakfast, we’ll depart from Mostar to explore some of the most scenic and spiritual landmarks in Herzegovina. Our first stop is the tranquil village of Blagaj, a little bit outside of the city, on the foot of a cliff, with beautiful blue waters in front of it. Blagaj is a small Ottoman medieval town in Herzegovina with its stunning nature and imposing spring of river Buna Take some time to soak in the peaceful atmosphere. Sip Bosnian coffee by the river, and admire the blend of Ottoman and Mediterranean architecture.
Kravice Falls
We then continue our journey to the breathtaking Kravica Waterfalls, often called the “Mini-Niagara of the Balkans.” Surrounded by lush greenery, the falls plunge into a crystal-clear natural pool, making it a perfect spot to relax, enjoy nature, or even take a swim (weather permitting).
Medjugorje
In the afternoon, we head to Medjugorje, a world-renowned Catholic pilgrimage site. Since 1981, the town has drawn millions of visitors following reported apparitions of the Virgin Mary. You will have time to visit key sites such as the Church of St. James, take a meditative walk-up Apparition Hill, or simply reflect in the peaceful surroundings. After a day filled with natural beauty and spiritual insight, we return to Mostar.

Lukomir
After breakfast we will drive from Mostar to our next destination Lukomir, the highest and most remote mountain village in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Lukomir is not just a destination, it is a glimpse into the traditional Bosnian way of life, untouched by modernity. With its stone houses topped with wooden or tin roofs and the presence of only a few dozen inhabitants (mostly elderly), Lukomir feels like stepping back in time. This village is the last semi-nomadic settlement in the country and is recognized for its cultural significance and authenticity. We will enjoy a refreshing short hike through stunning alpine landscapes and traditional stone cottages, soaking in breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. .

After this authentic nature experience, continue your journey to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sarajevo is well known for its various delicious meat dishes and desserts. You will have some free time to enjoy the traditional dishes and have a cove in the old town.

Our final day begins with a guided walking tour through Sarajevo. You can still see many reminders of the Yugoslav War in bullet holes and cannon marks all around town. The tour will cover the stories of origins of Sarajevo and the medieval Bosnian Kingdom. We will visit the Ottoman and Austria-Hungarian parts of Sarajevo, both with stunning markets, bazaars, mosques, churches and synagogues will reveal the true nature of the real European Jerusalem. We’ll make sure to visit the Latin Bridge and learn the story about how WWI was triggered right here, in the heart of Sarajevo.
