An incredible tour packed with fascinating facts about the Lake District, that even as a local, I learned things I’d never heard before! The drive offers breathtaking scenery, including a visit to Manchester castle. The driver I had, Derek, was friendly and knowledgeable. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone, young or old, with a love of history and beautiful landscapes!

A wonderful trip with Tony. a first rate driver and guide. Superb scenery, accompanied by his gentle, witty and yet unobtrusive commentary. We would have liked more time to enjoy the high passes, for example the Roman ruins, and then perhaps linked up with Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway for a run, re joining the coach further along. Muncaster Castle needed a lot more time to really enjoy as an attraction in its own right.

Tour host was the highlight. He was friendly, funny and very informative. he was also a superb driver, negotiating the winding roads of the Lakes with ease. The scenery was spectacular as was the visit Muncaster Castle. The lunch provided was excellent, more food than we could eat. Muncaster was interesting, we participated in the ax throwing and archery, first time for both of us. The amount of time spent at each location was perfect and the small tour group made the journey a lot more pleasant. I highly recommend this tour guide and this tour for single folks and couples of all ages.

Today our driver and guide Andy provided us with a fabulous experience. His knowledge of the local and regional area was fantastic. Andy made us all feel Very comfortable and engaged with everyone on the bus. He went above and beyond to ensure we didn’t miss a thing and he mastered the drive that would have had the most seasoned of drivers a little tense at times. Thanks for a brilliant day Andy. If you are looking for a great day trip, don’t hesitate to book this tour with Andy from Mountain Goat.

Booked it as a surprise for hubby for our 40th Wedding Anniversary and he couldn't have been more pleased with the day. The scenery is fantastic with stops not only just for comfort breaks but to stop view and photograph it. Muncaster Castle had everything you could need from Castle viewing, Axe throwing and Birds of prey to see flying. Our driver Tony was brilliant. He made you feel comfortable from the start. His commentary was informative and fun. We couldn't have asked for a better driver. Tony's driving skills were impeccable.

We enjoyed this trip. Driver Tony was a great driver through all the narrow and twisty roads. He gave us an interesting commentary throughout the trip giving information about the history and geography of the Lake District. We were able to have plenty of stops to get out and stretch our legs and take photos, attending 2 cafes for a drink and toilet stops. We also had a good lunch break (just over 2 hours) at Muncaster castle, 45 mins having lunch in the cafe (which is included in the price of the day), watching the birds of prey display (the best one I have ever seen), a look round the castle, and a trip to the gift shop. We saw a few of the Lakes and drove back along the coast for some of the way. Everything was very well planned. Highly recommend!

I really recommend this tour. Duncan was a very knowledgeable guide and excellent driver. Don't drive yourself on these narrow roads. There's lots of traffic and the roads are very steep. Take this tour instead, no stress and enjoy the landscapes.

A bright sunny morning found we two departing Windermere on a Mountain Goat Tour.Duncan was our driver. We endured exciting passages through the lakes.Wrynose pass and Hardnott pass were two major inclusions on our comfortable bus.We passed lake upon lake and Tarn after Tarn, stopping for photography on the way.Duncan was well read on the many aspects of the history. We arrived at Muncaster Castle, and after a light lunch inclusive,we ventured through the venue. We toured for about seven hours.A good value tour.
