Explore the natural side of LA. This megacity is not just freeways, traffic jams, and pollution. The surrounding nature of LA will surprise you and the stunning 360 view of the ocean, coastline, LA basin , Channel Islands, Catalina and the San Gabriel / Bernardino Mountains capped with snow in the winter, is the best welcome gift from the city ! Pickup from Marina Del Rey, Venice and Santa Monica area; we will hike a four mile loop in the Santa Monica Mountains—a coastal mountain range bordering Los Angeles, Malibu, and Ventura county. We will even see a couple of redwood sequoias during the hike. I have a University degree in Geology and I have been guiding tours of National and State Parks for over 30 years. On the hike, I will share super interesting facts about the geography and geology of Los Angeles and California.

Alberto was friendly and enthusiastic about this hike. This hike is special because original tree and plant-life have been preserved in the state park. Additionally there is a small canyon that had a cute waterfall! There are birds tucked away in the chaparral - California Scrub Jay and California Thrasher were seen. Alberto is very familiar with the trail. He skillfully shares his knowledge of nature, geography, and local Culture at a good balance of moving and pauses. The views of the ocean and Los Angeles, from the trail summit were spectacular. Very enjoyable!
