Due to construction work on the Grütschalp gondola from April 13 to July 10, 2026, the itinerary of this tour will be slightly adjusted. The hike will instead start and end in Mürren.
This change does not affect the overall experience — guests will still enjoy the same breathtaking views and highlights of the region. The tour remains fully guided and maintains the same quality and difficulty level as described.
Experience one of the most iconic and scenic walks in the Swiss Alps on this beautiful hike from Grütschalp to Mürren. Starting in the famous village of Lauterbrunnen, we take a short gondola ride up the mountainside and begin our hike along a mountain view trail overlooking the valley of 72 waterfalls. After reaching Mürren, we return to the valley and visit the impressive Trümmelbach Falls – a series of powerful glacier waterfalls hidden inside the mountain.

Hubby and I love to hike! Hiking in Switzerland was an absolute dream! Suzie, our amazing guide, picked us up at our hotel (awesome perk!) and we were off to see the beautiful countryside! We chose the most difficult hike and it was 100% worth it! We hiked above the clouds and saw views that were just breathtaking! Suzie was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and super friendly! We had an amazing time!

Amazing trip and awesome tour guide, Zuzi! She took us hiking along the mountainside and into the trees. Absolutely gorgeous scenery! Enjoyed lunch at a cafe and then went to Trummelbach Falls — waterfalls inside a mountain. The best day with the best tour guide!

Zuzi was an amazing guide! She took our small group on a great hike and took care of all our tickets for any transportation. She let us decide how easy or hard we wanted our hike so it was just right! We saw some beautiful places!

This trip was absolutely stunning. Our local guide was accommodating and full of knowledge about the area we were touring as well as the whole country. He was fascinating to listen to as we learned so much during our six plus hour tour. Our guide offered us trekking poles which we gladly used during the first part of the alpine hike. After the initial 45 minutes of the hike it flattened out and became very manageable without the trekking poles. George knew all the spots to show us the cows grazing in the mountain pastures, spotted BASE jumpers for us to watch and even pointed out a helicopter airlifting a cow down for veterinary treatment from the upper mountain to the lower valley. He was quite informative of the process by which the glacial melt cut through the mountain producing the distinctive milky green rivers flowing into the Interlaken lakes. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour and tour company. 5-Stars+ for our group!(swisslocalguide.ch)

Away from the crowds, up small trails known only by local guides, past the grazing cows, vast landscapes and waterfalls. Everything I had in my head about Switzerland played out in this hike all with a knowledgeable guide telling us about local customs, lifestyle, and history. If I only had one day in Switzerland, this would be the tour to take.
